RoryJ 0 #1 February 15, 2012 I was looking for some vendors for Cordura, webbing, and hardware and happened across this site: http://milspecmonkey.com/. They have a bunch of PDFs about MIL SPEC standards. Might be an interesting read for some. Not again!
councilman24 37 #2 February 15, 2012 Didn't see the PDF's but be aware that most material and hardware mil-specs for parachute materials are obsolete. A number of years ago the military gave those over the the Parachute Industry Association and stopped maintaining military specifications for those materials. PIA has a very active specifications committee made up of representatives of many manufacturers and government representatives. Current specifications are available for purchase at www.pia.com. You can find contact information for PIA member material suppliers at http://www.pia.com/links.htmI'm old for my age. RoryJ 0 #3 February 15, 2012 The PDFs are all just blue highlighted links, most at the top of each section. Good to know about that, just sucks that they are "for purchase" instead of for general consumption/education. Thanks for that, though. Not again! councilman24 37 #4 February 15, 2012 While the a lot of the work is done by volunteers there is staff time involved and costs for meetings and the production of the specifications. Not supported by tax dollars or PIA dues so income is needed.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
