Rules on getting pied

Recommended Posts

i have been pied by those who haven't... and one time they even tried to recruit my (then) whuffo-girlfriend to pie me....

I think it depends on where you are... rules seem to vary from dz-to-dz

Landing without injury is not necessarily evidence that you didn't fuck up... it just means you got away with it this time

I THOUGHT SO....but also the little shit couldn't decide if a tandem he did with his bro technically was his 100th but I think it was just to get OUT of getting pied. You'll get your Kenny - I hope someone back home sees this and creams you when you least expect it.....

Pieing can be an art form depending on how the planning goes or the suprise factor.

A word to the wise though, be carefull when you get the pie together. Usually making one yourself is best. a number of years ago I watched a guy get pied with a store bought cream pie of some sort. You know the type, from the frozen food section... Well it was not 100% thawed and the poor recipent ended up with a bloody nose! "good times!"

OUCHIE......that sucks! Well I am hoping for a nice SOFT coolwhip type pie...just something yummy that I can lick off my face or anyone else who wants to can......hee hee. I just hope when and if I get pied someone gets video and pics of it....wonder if anyone around "Sebass" loves me enough? 100 will without a doubt be this weekend - weather permitting.

Something came up this weekend and I was curious... Can someone that has never been pied, pie someone? The situation was, I was doing my 100th and Denise (SunnyDee) was talking about giving me a nice big pie in the face. :)

How could the first ever pie-ing have taken place if that rule applied?

They simultaneously pied each other.

When I was new to sport jumping, pieing had a few rules.

You were pied for being cleared to self-jumpmaster (graduating from student status), for 100 jumps, 500, 1000, and each 1000 after that. The "each 1000" was pretty rare.

To pie someone, you had to have reached the pieable milestone, yourself. If you didn't have 500 jumps, you couldn't pie someone else for reaching this milestone, etc.

The rule about reaching the milestone yourself was only waiverable to include a direct family member or if you had pissed off the manifest bitch.

If no one at your DZ had more jumps than you - you were basically immune to being pied. Of course, if some higher-time jumper came for a visit, you walked around nervously looking over your shoulder all day...

The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

I've never heard that it matters who gives the pies. I pied someone (Jonathan) while I was still on AFF. He didn't think that was funny, it was just how we caught him off guard. Let me see, before I hit 100 jumps I had given pies for #300, #400, #1000, #2000. Since then I've pied for #200, #3000, and #shewasmovingsowepiedher.

We don't usually pie for anything other than the standard unless it's been a while or if the person just needs to get pied.

Perhaps there should be some discussion of pie ingredients! Ah yes, I was one who thought she had slipped past the pieing thang...but no, they lay in wait...and had diversionary tactics, too. So, my pies consisted of whipped cream (okay), mayonnaise and mustard (not so okay). The photo will look like I went to the same hairdresser who 'styled' Cameron Diaz' hair-do in Something About Mary....

Well, I think there is a gray area there though...

I pied a buddy on his 1000th before I had been pied (had something like 98 jumps) and then the following day.....I got pied like a M-Fer!!!!

So, I certainly earned my right for pie-ing early, but it still counted!! I don't think you're allowed (or should be allowed) to pie if you aren't going to hit your mark within 24 hours though. To make it fair, but to also provide ammunition for recourse!!!;)B|

Technically, that would have been "Iwasmovingsoyoucupcakedme". Chocolatey cupcakes :)

I've been pied for 100, 200, 400, 500, and I got "beered" when I graduated AFF. I've noticed at our dz the girls all seem to get pied a lot. What's up with that?? :P

During the 120-ways here, Tony Hathaway did his 10,000th. B| Using that rule, only 4 people on our dz could have pied him.

His wife arranged to have 120 whipped cream pies on paper plates in the landing area next to the swoop pond. After a picture, he was pied by all of us and then thrown into the pond with the 120-way plane captains.

Imagine what it looks like to have 120 paper plates stuck to you. :D Not one square inch was un-papered.

who the hell pies for 200????

Under normal circumstances, I would think that it would be nobody. But all rules are out the door if some milestone occurred during a boogie with friends looking for trouble. :o

Yes, this was all very good. We had about 12 pies ready to go for three people. Two of them snuck out to avoid the pies. Monkey got all 12.

Another good one over the weekend was Larry for #3000. The best part was that he made the pies himself because he thought we were going to get Bettina for #100.

I think you should get pied for becoming a "Centurion" in skydiving (100), but the next shouldn't be til a really big milestone, like the magic number (500), then 1000, then every 1000 after that. And the pie-er should already be at the milestone achieved by the pie-ee. :D This squares with Cajone's experience.

Still, it varies a bit, depending on where you jump. When somebody at my DZ hit an important milestone recently, I non-chalantly said "Three Point One Four One Seven...?", and some folks caught on and said "Yeah, you're right - it's a good number." Meaning the milestone as well as the mathematical allusion to the dessert, B|, but to my knowledge, the individual didn't wind up getting pied. [:/]
