I don't know if you all remember or not, but

Recommended Posts

a while back I was pressing charges against a young Marine who assaulted my son and received an ass whooping in return. Anyway, I dropped all charges.......couldn't go through with it due to circumstances. The young man, shortly after the incident, was on lockdown and was shipping off to the desert - to my understanding. Well, that will be an eye opener for him........he's young and made an unwise decision. As he's just starting out, I don't want anything on his record..............most everyone deserves a second chance. I believe his stint in the Corp will teach him alot. Hope I made the right decision - I feel in my heart I did.

i would like to think you did. hopefully his NCO's will straighten him out...who knows you may even get an apology when he gets back..

unless all the "I kicked a third world countries ass" bravado goes to his head..he could end up worse..but lets hope not...

Ya never can tell. Most of the time young Jar heads and Army guys get pumped so full of crap at work about how invincible, bullet proof, and 10 ft tall they are it's hard for them to deal with people on a "normal" level. Hopefully, he'll figure it out.

Both my wife and I have received a call from him prior to my dropping charges. He profusely apologized and offered to replace my mailbox which I declined (in a nice way) as I know what privates earn. In the long run, I think he'll be fine. ;)
