flyangel2 2 #6 May 20, 2003 After two years with metal in my ankle, I just had it removed last November. I had a plate also, and that's what was bugging me. I carry the metal in my logbook. Again, good vibes being sent your way to heal quickly.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. I was wondering though, has anyone here had problems walking through the metal detectors on the airports? Do you need some kind of a certificate to explain the non-stop "beep beep" even after you've been stripped naked? --- P. canopywhore 0 #15 May 21, 2003 Hey cheer up, the screws in my femur are holding a rod in the middle of the bone. Do what the doc says for awhile. If he says stay off of it, stay off of it. I waited till he gave me permission to push it. I've done 100 jumps since my jackass like landing and it hasn't been a year yet. I hope you heal quickly. They are right about the landings, ever since my accident my idea of a good landing is one I walk away from. I tell everybody that I checked my pride in at the ER. jerm 0 #18 May 21, 2003 cool brace looking thing, but not until he has the long screw out.... Planar and dorsi flexion are both inadvised and difficult with that screw in because it keeps the tib and fib from doing the little dance around eachother that they normally do to allow thos flexions. and yes, petur.. do the PT!!! i have full range-of-motion back in the ankle in the xray (see below) thanks in no small part to my PT GF making me do my PT all the time Landing without injury is not necessarily evidence that you didn't fuck up... it just means you got away with it this time

Tonto 1 #21 May 21, 2003 Mmm. Not always practical. My 14 screws and 22cm plate would look like I was wearing a garden rake. I've lost the plate and 2 or three of the screws now, but I'll always have the scar... tIt's the year of the Pig.
