skycat 0 #77 April 3, 2003 Ok since I don't want to have to read all the posts....is this going to be at hollister or another DZ in northern CA? Since it's about time I met hookie-poo's Mom who lives in northern CA, this might be a nice time to do it.Fly it like you stole it!
sfc 1 #78 April 3, 2003 QuoteQuoteNow now Simon, I assure you we have 2 very LARGE refrigerators at SMB that hold plenty of beer. It's not all about the size, it's about quality and experience, the Hollister fridge has served for many years and handles huge quantities of beer on a weekly basis, it has proven that it can manage the drinking habits of skydivers, it has beer energy and even when it is empty there you can still see the ghosts of the all the beers that were once there, thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. Quote But its ALL Good, I see how you are! Absolutely almost every beer is good, except for the odd miller or bud that the odd un-schooled student brings. Maybe achieving a good beer purchase should become a requirement for an a-license. Quote Hey your profile says you have 790 jumps? How in the hell did that happen? I worship the fridge, and I have to skydive to drink from it...
ltdiver 3 #79 April 3, 2003 Quote the only person on the dive allowed to not be in their assigned slot is the camera flier. Eh??!! IMHO, if the cameraflyer isn't in their assigned slot by the time the formation is complete then there won't be picture evidence of the record! Remember, no pictures...it didn't happen. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Sebazz1 2 #87 April 3, 2003 Just keep sending your PM's if you're interested to POP. A dot com event at Hollister would be such a blast and we do have quite a few dot commers who jump there regularly anyway, but if the Raefordites build a 13 way or bigger this weekend we will take the record attempt to Lodi. $15 jump tickets there too FYI... lummy 4 #89 April 3, 2003 QuoteHmmm... I count 18 total... Guess we're gonna need an Otter... Oh, Jess.... Okay, but lets think about this, while I have a serious itch to jump at Monterey A) Weather (FOG) is going to be playing a bigger role on the coast suring the warmer months. B) The landing area is pretty small from what I understand... While prolly not an issue, but as the number in the formation goes up, this will be moreof an issue, especially with some of the lower # jumpers Hollister (Same itch) Things people need to know. The landing area is off airport and a 600'(am I close) altitude difference. Cypres Weenies beware... that leaves Davis, Byron and Lodi.... Davis, the one Caravan :( Byron, the one king air Lodi, the damned freeway right against the DZ So, let's all just get drunk instead?I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. eat sushi, get smoochieTTK#
Sebazz1 2 #90 April 3, 2003 Quote600'(am I close)Uh actually 250' Hollister has the best landing area for lower time jumpers. First of all it is in a sheltered canyon that protects it from winds that will often hose other DZ's (aka good swoops!). We do not have the FOG issues that the coast has. It is 250+ acres of flat land. Hollister's DZO and DZM are very accomodating (aka nice people). I just think from being in the Bay Area and knowing the Bay Area DZ's (listen up Jen)... Our first choice will be Hollister and our second choice will be determined at a later time as needed. So from here on out let's just talk about getting this record together. For Nor Cal and our one Texan buddy Mike!! I'll tell you Texas Mike (his nic) made a huge impression at Hollister when he visited last. Can't wait to get him back out for a weekend... Edited to add: Even though there is a ten minute ride back from the landing area it is a great time to debrief and whatch video before everyone can run off to pack or whatever. crapflinger2000 1 #96 April 3, 2003 it's not very polite to try and hijack someone else's great idea... as a fan of both DZs, how about we break the current record in Hollister first, then we can break Hollister's record over in SMB at a later date... wooooosh __________________________________________________ What would Vic Mackey do? TEB6363 0 #97 April 3, 2003 Looook.... Gork can write...... Dude, Where you been. Did you even stay and jump last weekend??? Hey all, Isn't the Kathy Dause Boogie getting pretty close.. That would be cheap tickets, there were plenty of big-ways and the beer is already going to be there.... Hell, last year it was a blast and any body could organize a load or several loads for one group and NOBODY cared!!!! What a thought, to get together and jump and not care about whose frige is biggerI wanta go there Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
chopchop 0 #98 April 3, 2003 tehehe... talk about hijacking... when is the KDFC boogie anyway? Is it the one that got superceded on my calendar by the dz.com boogie in Perris on Memorial Day weekend? chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures
TEB6363 0 #99 April 3, 2003 I didn't mean to hijack the record. I just remember that last year it was a friggen blast. The SMB Otter flew there (and we all jumped in to the boogie after leaving from Monterey - that was cool). There was beer and a HUGE fire!!! Hey, whenever you pick a date and place, I may even get to go. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
Sebazz1 2 #100 April 3, 2003 Hey Tom are all Monterey jumpers as tactful and respectful to others as you and Jen are? First you Hiijack the Hollister record thread and now you hiijack the Perris record attempts just for your DZ? Seems like a pretty insecure or shallow place to be? Just wondering? No ill will intended at all...
