My mom used to shave 2 of our cats growing up for the summer time that looked just like the photo. It's soooooo darn hot here in Texas that they actually liked it when they got shaved. It was sooo much cooler for them.

Mem has been crawling in the fridge, and begging for ice cubes, so it's time for him to get a shave....but since I'm spending all my money this month jumping he will have to wait till next month

Many pet owners do this with dogs as well. Although, the photo-humor factor isn't as high.

You should try & shave Mem yourself...see how it turns outhahahaha Take a picture! I've done that once just to see.....it was horrible but they didn't care cause they were getting ride of alllllll that hair

Yeah I'd say Vegas can get pretty darn hot! Wouldn't ya rather have some hair on the cat that gives it personality as opposed to no hair at all & then it just looks like those ugly hairless cats? I mean, don't get me wrong...I love cats but those hairless ones looked freaky

I think you're taking what I am saying out of context. When we owned Bearded Collies and Sheepdogs we would get them close shaves (a little longer than skin-close) every summer. This served two purposes: they re-grew their coats, easier to groom and it kept them a little cooler in August/September.

What i meant were that theres no reason that the kitty should look like a lion,i do understand when you shave animals to help them in one way,but not if its just to show them off like that.
What your talking about is to help the animals off whith the heat(they dont "wear boots ,or have a lion tale)
