RevJim 0 #1 May 12, 2003 After emailing Missy with a couple of questions, and mentioning the fact that this weekend is a full moon, I asked about night jumps. I need these by September 1st for my "D", and this weekend looks to be really nice weather. Missy said that there was nothing "planned" for night jumps, but if there was enough interest, the plane would go up. How about it people? Good (I hope) weather, and standard jump ticket prices for a night jump? Who knows what the weather will be like in the next couple of months around the full moons! Help me get in the air, in the dark! Besides, I know I'm not the only one that needs to get these done before September....It's your life, live it! Slowfaller 0 #2 May 12, 2003 having only an A license...i don't think i'll be able to participate.....if weather bug is wrong and it's not going to thunderstorm, i'll be there for some daytime sitflying if your interested. Maybe some night time beer drinking --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
RevJim 0 #3 May 12, 2003 I also only have an "A", but I'm "B" qualified. Hell, I guess I'm "C" qualified now, minus the test. I passed the air skill for the "B" and "C" on the same jump a year or two ago. It's your life, live it! Slowfaller 0 #4 May 12, 2003 I guess I am B qualified....66 jumps and enough on target landings...does that mean i could do a night jump? That's scary if I can! --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
Gosia 0 #5 May 12, 2003 Hi, Nikki and I are going to be there this weekend and we're qualified to do our presecond night jump. Like you, we're trying to get our D License by September and the weather not cooperating with us lately, if the plane goes up, we're planning on being on it with you. Gosia 0 #8 May 12, 2003 Yup, 1 solo then at least 1 group jump. I'm kinda nervous about it... but it'll be fun. It's always fun. Is SDC your home dz?
RevJim 0 #9 May 12, 2003 For my thoughts on that, read here:http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=478336#478336 SDC is a place I just recently visited and enjoyed myself. I expect the majority of this summer will be split between SDC and Sky Knights in East Troy. I consider neither my Home, as I consider none my home, but they are places I will frequent. It's your life, live it! mnischalke 0 #10 May 12, 2003 QuoteI guess I am B qualified....66 jumps and enough on target landings... True, if you also have done the maneuver (figure 8, backloop, figure 8 and backloop in 18 seconds), water training and b-exam. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills. RevJim 0 #11 May 12, 2003 Yep, I did all that down in MO. Even took the test. I took it all before I had 50 jumps though, so the only thing not signed off on the sheet was that. Now I gotta dig around and find that sheet! It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#
mnischalke 0 #12 May 12, 2003 Or just fill out a new one with the C reqs too and skip the B. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
Slowfaller 0 #13 May 12, 2003 the freefall manuevers aren't a problem but no water training or B test... --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
freeflir29 0 #14 May 12, 2003 Quote Yup, 1 solo then at least 1 group jump. You should have seen my S&TA's face when he was reviewing the log book for my D paperwork. I pointed to the first one and he says..."Was this your first?" Yep...."Then why does it say 3 way free fly?" Uhhhh.....cause that's what I did.....He didn't seem overly amused..... Slowfaller 0 #18 May 12, 2003 i know Renee. It'd be like doing the first jump all over again i'll bet. Just sitting here thinking about it gives me the willies. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
eeneR 3 #19 May 12, 2003 I am torn...half of me is very excited about it...and the other half is completely terrified.....At least at SDC there is a TON of safe area to land in...so that will be cool.... Gosia 0 #20 May 12, 2003 me too, but it's gotta be done. Can't give up now that I've gone this far. it's just a jump and from what i've been told you can see a lot. it's just the landing that you have to watch out for. With the amount of people out there this weekend, we will have enough cars on the landing area to see. I'm naturally worried, but psyched up for it. Bickel might be going too. Gosia 0 #23 May 13, 2003 Sorry doc, but i've got hypoaltitudeism... need to get up in the air be it during the day or night. Would rather do my presecond group night jump with my team, but it'll wait. I might do more in June if they're as cool as people say they are.
sarge 0 #24 May 13, 2003 Ok Jim, No two doubts about it!! if they'll put a plane up i'll go up with it !! i'll call over there also-- I'm done with the personally meaningful and philosophical sigs!!
RevJim 0 #25 May 13, 2003 QuoteOr just fill out a new one with the C reqs too and skip the B. Actually, I'm skipping the b and c, so I'll just take all the tests, lol. I need to find that sheet though, as that's the only place my water training is recorded, I think. I can't remember if it was in my log book though. I'll check to make sure. It's your life, live it!
