Gosia 0 #27 May 13, 2003 Thanks for the post. I'm totally looking forward to it on Saturday night. The person that did your water training might still remember and be willing to sign it off for you. That might be another option if you can't find your sheet. Good luck with that.
WFFC 1 #28 May 13, 2003 Quotei know Renee. It'd be like doing the first jump all over again i'll bet. Just sitting here thinking about it gives me the willies. First night jump (Yes I bought my beer) is all on video. Scared shitless in the plane. Landed dead center in the peas. Did I mention it was on video? sunshine 2 #29 May 13, 2003 Both of my night jumps were made on the same night about a year ago. The first one was my solo where i screamed upon exit, screamed in freefall, screamed under canopy....I was scared. Then i had to pack up and go do my RW night jump. Glad they're overwith. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!
WFFC 1 #30 May 13, 2003 I'm still up in the air about jumping this weekend. I've got a few family commitments that I want to really ditch. But, we'll see. Besides, I do need to visit the compound and see what the koolaid tastes like eh? Even though I've got many night jumps under my belt, count me out on this one. Not enough jumps on the samurai yet to turn the lights out.
WFFC 1 #31 May 13, 2003 QuoteGlad they're overwith. Night jumps rule! btw, who made night jumps a couple years ago - October 13, Friday. Full moon. Unless I missed one, that won't happen again for 25-30 years...

JamesNahikian 0 #36 May 13, 2003 Please add my name to the night jump list for this weekend. I'll check the SDC bulletin boards and confirm. We'll have enough folks. The weather, now that's a separate issue. D. James Nahikian CHICAGO

EricaH 0 #39 May 13, 2003 Chris - did you go to North Central College? There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear. PMS #227 (just like the TV show)
ChasingBlueSky 0 #40 May 13, 2003 Come on out - it's a great place and a few DZ.com folk out there as well. As far as night jumps - I was as scared for my first one as I was for my first jump. Now, I love them and do as many as I can in a year. At last count I think I had 23 night jumps. I'm still a bit nervous before each one, but once I am in the air I'm laughing all the way to the ground. They really are that amazing. For the first timers - make sure you ask about moon shadow, it is a very real thing and I have seen a couple people ger hurt because of it. I'll be out there this weekend, but don't think I can make the night load since I need to run back to the city Saturday night._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... RevJim 0 #44 May 17, 2003 Damn, Damn, Damn, Damn, Damn, DAMN!!! I just got my check for last week. Freakin rain! I only worked 2 days, so needless to say, the check sucks. I have a few jumps left on my account at SDC, but the check was soooo small I can't even afford to make the 5 hour or so drive down. No loads to deliver either, so no semi-get paid to got to IL-drive. I'm glad I emailed Missy about the night jumps, and I wish you all well in doing them, but it sucks that I'm not going to be able to be there to do them with you. Have fun everyone. Drink a few for me, and I'll see you next weekend (semi load already set up, I'll BE THERE!)It's your life, live it! mnischalke 0 #49 May 17, 2003 The problem is gonna be popping them all right before you exit so yer not blinding people on the plane. You could keep them all covered (while lit) somehow (trashbag over yer body for the climb?) and on jumprun, unveil yerself. Hypoxia already kills a huge chunk of yer night vision--glowing like a big lightbulb in the back of the plane might piss some people off. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
