PhillyKev 0 #4 May 15, 2003 It was marketed as limited edition. I'm pretty sure they're all sold and they're not making more. Make me an offer

jceman 1 #6 May 15, 2003 Quote Trying to get a price on the Rantoul 02 DVD by Martini Shot. Anybody know how much it's going for and where it can be had? Let's see Mark -- you want info on a video/dvd on a skydiving event that has its own website? Wouldn't the logical thing be to first check the WFFC site and see if there is a link to info there?Secondly, you know that the video in question is by Martini Shot Films, right? Right, you mention that in your request. Do you think they may just have a web site with the information you're "seeking"? Damned lazy ass skydivers want everyone else to do the most basic search for them! Here's a hint: the website for WFFC is http://www.freefall.com. For the totally clueless, there is a link there to http://www.martinishotfilms/wffc2002.htm. Folk, we've got to quit being so nice and providing this stuff to those whose clueboxes are empty. Mark, if you've read this far, I'm just yanking your chain (mostly). But it would be nice if you would fill your cluebox just a bit. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

Mark, if you've read this far, I'm just yanking your chain (mostly). But it would be nice if you would fill your cluebox just a bit. Naughty, Jack. Naughty.. The clueboxes were already filled before the first post was made. The initial post went up last night because I was on a deadline for submitting my review of the DVD and I couldn't find the pricing. The link on freefall.com goes to the martinishot site. The pricing there says "Call", and omninously, "SOLD OUT". Called Paragear (they don't have it) and Square1 isn't open yet (not til 0900 PT). neither of their websites listed the DVD. I did all that last night, before I ever made the first post. Thankfully, it's all moot. I got an email from Grant about 1/2 hr ago with the info. He's ordered another printing of the DVD because of the overwhelming demand, and the DVD is $55 plus shipping. So Jack, the clueboxes were already checked off...I was just hoping somebody in Grant's camp might see the post and get it to me last night before my article deadline. I always do my homework. Perhaps in my initial post, I should have made all that known. My bad. "The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."
PhillyKev 0 #8 May 15, 2003 QuoteHe's ordered another printing of the DVD because of the overwhelming demand Figured the "limited edition" status would be eliminated. When Grant replied on here to all the complaints about the length of time it took to get it, he also addressed people's complaints that he was still selling it. He said that it was a limited edition and once it was gone it's gone and he just hadn't changed his website to remove the order link. So now he's going to print more...nice. Martinishotfilm 0 #9 May 15, 2003 That is ABSOLUTLY correct! I had well over 60 people all wanting the DVD so I made the decision to order a few more. Now everyone is happy. As far as limited eddition..... Well its still the only Freefall convention EVER done on DVD. So in that respect it is still a very limited DVD for everyones collection. As far as outlets for the video (Vhs) you can order direct from Martini Shot Films, from Para-Gear, or Pier LTD. Square 1 does not carry any of my videos. And for the DVD you can currently only ORDER directly through Martini Shot Films. Para-Gear may carry them in the future! Grant

So you will of course be refunding everyone that you sold to under the pretenses of it being a limited edition. At least that is a relief.
Martinishotfilm 0 #11 May 15, 2003 Ummmmm, no. As it is still a Limited edition in the fact that it is currently the only DVD available for that event, and will continue to be so for quite some time as there will only be VHS this year. Grant
PhillyKev 0 #13 May 15, 2003 QuoteI have taken orders for 200 DVD's I will be delivering 200 DVD's. -Grant 2/6/2003 QuoteThe Limited Edition DVD will feature bonus outtakes, interviews, skydiving footage and nighttime activities - all in razor-sharp picture quality and Dolby Digital sound. Make sure you order your DVD now, because there is going to be a limited quantity produced! -Currently on the website. And if I recall correctly, the WFFC website said right on the link to preorder it that there were only 200 and once they were gone "they're gone". It even had a nifty little countdown showing how many were left.
Guest #14 May 15, 2003 Grant has said that he'll sell more copies of the "Rantoul 02" DVD, but that he won't be producing a DVD for the 2003 WFFC."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."
