lizzieb 0 #26 May 15, 2003 i work with a lot of people who have done 1 static line jump before...no one has jumped recently, but a few have shown interest in doing a tandem at somepoint. skydiving does fascinate most of them and the love asking me questions about it and seeing pictures/video
SkyDekker 1,465 #27 May 15, 2003 quite a few people I work with have done a couple of jumps or at least one tandem. None of them are licensed skydivers though. I still don't understand how you can jump only once or twice
JeffGordon 0 #28 May 15, 2003 A guy where I work jumps. I had no idea until he came out to Walterboro to get his Strong rating. He said he had seen my car outside the building but we didn't meet until he came out to my DZ. We have done a couple of jumps together since.

dgskydive 0 #30 May 15, 2003 I'm surrounded by skydivers 24/7! It's great. Go to work, SKYDIVERS! Go home SKYDIVERS! The only time I see wuffos is when I visit my family! Or when they come into our bar. Sometimes I forget that not everybody jumps.Dom
zonie 0 #31 May 16, 2003 QuoteWhere I work, I am overwelmed by pot bellied older guys, who swear up and down that I am going to die when (it is just a matter of time) my parachute fails to open. They, on the other hand, are just waiting for their heart attacks. Being overwieght/ high blood pressure/ high cholesterol is more of a killer than skydiving will ever be. Killed my dad, but it aint gonna kill me.
flypunk 0 #32 May 16, 2003 Most of the people around me are too far into reality shows and what car they drive and stuff like that to open their eyes and experience life. You see its quite a change from my last job where the guy who I started with used to work with me. Off work early to go play, with consent from the firm. ... newshooter12 0 #35 May 16, 2003 This has nothing to do with the post, but Nice new avitar Suz. matt So, I've got something to add now... One of my co-workers who was supposed to head over to Iraq w/one of our area's reserve units told me that he wanted to jump sometime. Saying, "When I get home alive from over there I want to jump!" Well. The trip fell through and he's still coming up to me saying he wants to jump. So I tell him I'll be up at the DZ all day this sunday and to stop out if he's ready. He's got to be my most honest co-worker b/c he said, "Matt. Uh.. I don't think this weekend is very good. I've got to work up the balls to do it first." That's honesty. He still wants to go, but I don't want to push him unless he want to... ya know?My friend's fiance is going to make a tandem sunday though
