akaGQ 0 #1 May 14, 2003 Ok within the next 2-3 weeks Im gonna get a new container (duhhh) and Im trying to find out the pros and Cons for the two from jumpers that have one and liked it or didnt like it and ya know things that the manufacturer isnt going to tell you. Im also most likely going to get the freefly deployment system as opposed to the BOC any thoughts on this as well. Any information or comments will be greatly appreciated. AggieDave 6 #2 May 14, 2003 WINGS! Hands down, the best customer service I've seen, the only complaint I have about mine is that its so damned sexy looking I'm not sure if I should buy it dinner before jumping or not. Ok, seriously, I've founds Wings to be very good, rock solid rigs, I've had mine at 275mph in a headdown, nothing budged, its super comfy and the price was hella better then a Mirage or a Jav! --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." RevJim 0 #3 May 14, 2003 I've tried on both and found them to both be quite comfy. That said, I still prefer the fit, finish, and comfort of my rigger's Voodoo. It's your life, live it! skybytch 273 #7 May 14, 2003 Quoteget an Infinity Yeah. What he said. But if you just gotta have one of the two you mentioned, you'll get the Mirage faster than you would the Odyssey.
canopywhore 0 #8 May 14, 2003 I love my Javelin and my girlfriend loves her's too. I had to wait awhile but I haven't regreted it one minute. I would have bought a Voodoo but they didn't have the reserve/main combo I was looking for. The smaller Voodoos look awesome, some of the bigger one were just average. I was thinking about getting a pull-out also, when I consulted a couple of riggers they said they loved them. They said they were worth a couple of reserve rides a year. Depending on your experience thats a choice only you can make. Another thing to think about is if anyone else ever packs your rig it is another potential problem. Most of the people I know that have pull-outs are very picky about their pack jobs. The only thing I can say about the Mirage is I didn't have enough money to get one. I know two friends of mine swear by their comfort and reliability. Good luck.

akaGQ 0 #13 May 14, 2003 how difficult is it to pack a pull out? Like is it more likely to have a mal with a pullout over a boc or what?- GQ ... it was the love of the air and sky and flying, the lure of adventure, the appreciation of beauty ... -Charles Lindberg
Samurai136 0 #14 May 14, 2003 The selling point for PullOut mals is that you know what the mal is (a total). You've either pulled the pin or you haven't. I voted Odyssey. Of course your buying this new container to have it in time for the New Years boogie, right?Ken "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken
SanDiegoRW 0 #15 May 14, 2003 I second the Wings vote! I leave it next to my bed so if my g/f can't get me excited I just look over at my rig and boing! Save some cash and get an awesome rig in the process. -Kenny

chopchop 0 #19 May 14, 2003 I've got a few hundred jumps on a Javelin, 70 or so on a couple different Mirages (1 a G-3, 1 a G-4) and a couple of hundred on my Voodoo... I really really love the Voodoo. All 3 are very comfortable.. The Mirage and Voodoo were far better freefly rigs than the Javelin (all the flaps stay shut). The Javelin was the easiest to pack, followed by the Voodoo. Anyway, I am sure of the rigs mentioned in my and the other posts would make you quite happy. . chopchop gotta go... CanuckInUSA 0 #20 May 14, 2003 As a Wings owner I would vote for Wings, but you can't go wrong with a Mirage or Odyssey (or virtually any modern container for that matter). Also, Wings has something called a freefly handle (which I have). The handle resembles a pullout, but it's still a BOC. It's phat I tell you. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

NM156 0 #22 May 14, 2003 Out of the two, I'd say go with the Mirage. I think that both the riser and bridle protection is better on the Mirage than the javelin. I also don't like the way the javelin looks. Having said that, I personally prefer the V3, but that's just me. At the end of the day, you will get as many different answers as there are containers! It all depends on the features you are looking for and the price you are wiling to pay (although if you consider these containers, the price does not seem to be a big issue). pyke 0 #23 May 14, 2003 GQ...Whazzzzzup!! I have just gone through this whole ordeal...and I finally settled on a Vector 3 Micron. I know I could have gone with the trusted Javelin, but waiting 6 MONTHS for a rig is out of the question. I finally narrowed it down to Mirage and Vector - and honestly, Vectors were much more comfortable - better riser protection, better pin protection, lots of options, and very rigger friendly. The reserve deployment on my old rig is by far the best on the market (Racer), but none of the other reserve deployments will do you any harm. So I feel you can trust in that. So far, customer service has been excellent. RW has been a pleasure to work with...and having not experienced any problems yet - I can't say what they'll be like. I'd gladly compare notes with you anytime you're up at the dz again.... (oh yeah, I tried emailing your friend and haven't heard back from him - could you drop him a line and let him know I'm interested in doing business with him...I can place multiple orders as well - I have friends out of country interested!!)
