trevA 0 #1 May 5, 2012 I'm curious about the relatively easy packing and volumes of the pilot with zpx and the silhouette. Considering a brand new canopy: which is easiest to pack? I have a PD210 in a dolphin D4 at the moment and would like to downsize to a 190. Would either of these be too small (as 190sq ft) for this container given that the zpx packs a bit smaller the a zp 190 and the sihouette has 50% F111 which also packs small. NWFlyer 2 #2 May 5, 2012 If your main concern is packing ease, then consider a used ZP canopy. If you like the Pilot, why not look at a used Pilot 188 in standard ZP? It'll cost you a lot less and someone else has broken it in for you through the nasty packing period."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. sundevil777 102 #3 May 5, 2012 My old PD210 definitely packed smaller than my Pilot 210ZPX - one size smaller main tray size for an Infinity. Your change of canopies will likely work out well in the same container.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
trevA 0 #4 May 5, 2012 I'm on the lookout for a used 190 too. They seem to get picked up really quickly so I thought I could take a trip to the US and grab myself a new canopy and have a holiday too.
monkycndo 0 #5 May 5, 2012 Equating pack volumes of canopies of the same size from different manufacturers isn't always accurate. A ZPX Pilot will pack about one size smaller than a regular Pilot. But I have found that in general, the Pilot will pack larger than say a Sabre2. So no guarantee which will be smaller between a Sil or ZPX. If I needed an easy packing canopy that packed small, I'd go with a Pulse. Packs easily brand new and is a true one size smaller than other PD canopies.50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
bodypilot90 0 #6 May 6, 2012 I 2ed the pulse nice canopy and opens and flies nicely and packs much smaller than a pilot zp or zpx
Olmed 0 #7 May 6, 2012 I have jumped a Silhouette 230 and owns a Pulse 210. The silhouette is nice but I think the Pulse is smoother when compared and also packs small. Pulse is a great canopy! I like the colored lines on the Pilot to facilitate easy packing
popsjumper 2 #8 May 7, 2012 Pilot regardless of material. What does the container manufacturer say about main pack tray volume? What is the pack volume of the canopies you are considering? What type of lines are you considering? This is all information that you can either look up or call the manufacturer to get.My reality and yours are quite different.
