steve1 5 #2 April 15, 2003 I jump with a guy who is a dentist. I'd say go for it. Schooling costs a bunch, but they make big bucks. I don't know how hard it is to get into a program, but it would be worth shooting for. This is way off the subject, but a good story. The Dentist I know was at a boogie a while back. Another jumper was complaining about a bad tooth-ache. Everyone had been drinking too much. So finally he told the jumper to come with him. They made a quick trip to his office and quickly came back to the boogie. He had a mouth full of cotton where they had pulled the tooth out. It's good to know that there are dentists out there who can still do their job drunk......Steve1

I heard there was a good one in Massachusetts, but not in Arkansas or Kentucky.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

MrHixxx 0 #7 April 15, 2003 There is an exceptional school of dentistry here in Omaha which is Creighton. jfields 0 #10 April 15, 2003 QuoteI'm in the process of looking at dental schools and I was wondering if anyone had advice on anything related. Sure. Be sure it is what you want to do. The entire dental industry is changing very rapidly. The days of "dentist as respected professional" are being replaced by "dentist stuck between malpractice suits and greedy insurance companies". There are a lot of young dentists struggling to make ends meet while paying off school loans. A lot of them will never see the big incomes dentists saw a generation ago. My dad is a dentist that has been in practice for 30+ years and an officer in the Academy of General Dentistry. I grew up around the office and have heard about the changes my whole life. If you want to talk about it, PM me and then we could chat on the phone.

FliegendeWolf 0 #12 April 15, 2003 Quote Consider the University of Michigan (A^2 happens to be a great place to study/live, too): This is very true. I'm really happy living in Ann Arbor, except, well, the winter is too damn long! This past weekend was the first good skydiving weekend this season, and that seems too frickin' late for me! JamesNahikian 0 #13 April 15, 2003 IMHO Zingermann's, Yost and traying in The Arb tend to make a typical A^2 winter quite tolerable. NTM Spring, Summer (ArtFest!) and Fall more than compensate for the Winter. If, by chance, you should visit a Dahlmann Property, please ask for Andy or Ben and tell 'em that it's time for a reading of Huck Finn. D. riggerrob 643 #14 April 15, 2003 To avoid the whole malpractice suit/insurance salesman squeeze, you may want to consider selling your soul to the US Air Force or Navy. Forget about the Marines or Army, cus' those people get way too close to the front line.
