Snowflake 0 #1 April 9, 2003 I realize that the war is a major happening. I see it in the news, I see it in the papers, and it's talked about eveywhere. I realize people will have differing views about it. I'm probably not going to change your views and I know your not going to change mine. Maybe your lonely and have no one to talk to, but can't we talk about something else. Your not going to post any info that I'm not going to hear or read in the next 15 minutes. So please keep your opinions to yourself. This is of course just my opinion but it seems there are a few who want to show that their "side" is right. I could care less who's right at this point. I'd just like to be able to read a post and feel like it's not a war troll and have to resist the impulse to reply. But, some people's posts about the same subject over and over again are getting really redundant and tiring to read. There is so much coverage in the media, I really don't think we need to rehash the war on here over and over every day. Michele and Snowflake were there too - though I think Michele misunderstood one or two of my posts, I know she vehemently disagrees with them , but the respect is still there. Anyway, I have left all war and politics related threads for good (again), but I wish there was a way of being part of discussions to pass around info. and opinions without them becoming shouting matches. Zenister 0 #9 April 9, 2003 at a general level i agree with you michelle, and i do get a good bit of additional info from some of the posts.. however as the war is part of my daily life and the intel breifs part of my job, i could certainly use less of some of the inane war joke posts & repetitions of major news stories that are being passed everywhere around the net..its very unlikely anyone is posting anything that hasnt been seen in 10 other places.. of course your exactly right, i dont have to open them and i dont open many, i just wish there were something else entertaining for people to focus on instead.. the good news is winter is nearly gone and so more people will be jumping..i would soooooo much rather hear skydiving & dropzone tales than look at the next 10 stupid saddam photoshoped pics, or the endlessly repeated patriotic cliche quotes____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. No I truly don't want people to keep their opinions to themselves on the other hand I also don't like when this forum is used to keep force feeding the same opinion over and over again (I have a brain and probably got it the first time).
