Ducky 0 #26 April 9, 2003 Call me crazy, but I am unable to see how it is possible to compare the entry of our troops into Baghdad to the Chinese Army entering a U.S. city. I suppose if someone felt they needed to be liberated from the horrors of our terrible country then yes they would raise that Chinese flag in welcome. Our gov't is not jailing our children who refuse to fight. The last I checked our borders and the streets out of our major cities are still open 24hrs a day to allow exit (unlike Iraq). I suppose though it is possible that we need to be "liberated" by the Chinese. I do not however see the sense in waiting if this is how you feel. I'd be willing to pay for the ONE way plane ticket to China for ANY U.S. citizen who feels that we need to be "liberated". It would save me the headache of defending my country and rights against this possible liberation and the traitors who support or see the need for it. No need to loot military compunds to arm myself either if it ever came to that, i am prepared. kwakSometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. Sometimes your the hammer sometimes your the nail. Question is Hun, Do you wanna get hammered or do you wanna get nailed?????

To us, there's no comparison. But to an Iraqi? Don't forget, most of them don't get CNN. They haven't heard our president's speeches. All they know is what Saddam tells them. They hear that the US is an evil empire, and their president is trying valiantly to protect them. Their news doesn't carry stories about the Kurds being gassed. Their news doesn't talk about children being jailed. They may have heard rumors, of course - but the ones who act on those rumors get 'disappeared.' Then they see a US bomber blow up a few city blocks, kill a dozen people. They don't need the news to know who the enemy is now. They have finally seen with their own eyes who is killing people. So when that enemy comes marching down the street? They're going to have the same reaction to them that you might have to a "liberating" chinese army - a hatred of invaders who are coming to conquer their home. Sure, if they got CNN, they might have got the message that we're coming to liberate them. Most of them have not gotten that message.
