sunshine 2 #26 March 31, 2003 QuoteI never liked the guy from his first appearances on TV. Actually his first appearances on TV were quite honorable. One of the first stories he ever did was about a state run mental hospital in New York. He and a cameraman broke into the institution and secretly video taped the inhumane conditions. That story is what led to the changes in laws/regulations on how the mentally ill/retarded people are treated in this country. Because of him, those kinds of people now get decent treatment and aren't just herded into an institution where they're treated like animals. He may be a jerk now, but he did do something great in his lifetime. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! Guest #28 April 1, 2003 QuoteTell that to Joe Galloway. The author of We Were Soldiers Once and Young. Mr. Galloway not only carried his weapon but used it in the Ia Drang Valley. Galloway wasn't swaggering around in front of a TV camera like some kind of goofy Pancho Villa - Galloway was fighting for his very life. Peter "Tailwind" Arnett has gone beyond merely getting caught up in a story and losing objectivity - he's gone off the deep end, and NBC / National Geographic were right to can his sorry ass."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."
