M-16 isn't that much better, but you can get ammo and spares anywhere. If you want a decent assault rifle, the snub-nosed AK-47 is the way to go - hole the size of your thumb on the way in, hole the size of your fist on the way out. None of this "take one in the shoulder and keep fighting rubbish" - one of them hits you in the shoulder and it'll take your arm off.

Before people jump on me, no I haven't been in the forces, but this info comes from people who I know and trust. All information is relative.

Not meaning to jump on you but for a bit of clarification.

They're using the SA80-A2 now, Heckler Koch modified version of the original.

Don't know who told you about the SUSAT sight moving with someone walking but that's a pile of pants. It's fine providing you look after it.

I never got to use the modified version so my experience is based on the older one. There are some issues with that weapon but they have apparently been fixed with the mods.

Not saying anymore on the subject as I heard plenty of bitching about it when I was in and the argument over M16A2, AK47 is an old one. 5.56 vs 7.62 in modern warfare and combat ranges etc.

Bah! The Sig P220 is clunky, doesn't lend its self to combat shooting (self defense, not combat, combat) due to the feel of the weapon.

Now, a Glock! They're indestructable, incredibly reliable and very accurate. Not to mention lighter and sleaker then Sigs.

You can have your Sig, but I'll out shoot you any day of the week with one of my Glocks!

I seriously doubt if you'd outshoot me. The last good gunfight I had was in '70, when I was 1-1 on a CCN team way up north, a couple of clicks over the fence. Shooting is very diferent when being chased and shot at. The best pistol we had then was a silenced .22 Colt Woodsman.

Just consider this for a moment. You may have heard of an organizaation called GSG-9, undoubtedly the best counter-terrorist unit in the world, ask anyone in the business. The chosen weapon they carry in addition to the HK MP5 is the Sig P220, why's that I wonder.

I'm a good shooter, I know my limits, though. It'd still be a blast to go shoot with you, I'd probably learn a lot in an afternoon that way!

GSG-9 carries Sigs, HRT carries Glocks, Op-06 carries H&K or Glock. It all depends on who you're talking to.
