racer42 0 #27 March 17, 2003 With that said, gas is around $1.55 in the San Antonio area. Probably cheaper in Waco. I think the only way to compare apples to apples is to look at prices AND taxes and compare against regions. for example. CA NorCal, 2.10 fed tx 18 state tx 18 local Tx ??? Missisippi 1.62 fed Tax .18 stae tax??? local tax?I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. I'd much rather pay for roads, police etc through gas taxes than through income taxes. At least with gas taxes, the heaviest users of the roads pay the most, and you can avoid the tax if you really want to.
PhillyKev 0 #30 March 17, 2003 Hey...I'm not disputing that. He asked why gas cost more where he is than other places. I'm just saying it's because of the tax. Hell, tax it all you want. I fill up once every few months.
