Downsizing

Recommended Posts

In another post jose complained that there aren't enough crazy downsizing posts, so I decided to start one. I'm gonna downsize from the student 288 Manta to a Stilleto 120-ish, what do you guys think?

:P

Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you.

make sure the container is sized so that you can drop another canopy size or two, you're bound to get bored with the 120 pretty quick. shouldn't be too much of an issue though as theose small cross-braced air-locked canopies pack kinda big. ;)

I can imagine Lisa right now. Rolling out of bed, reading the post......Thinking......Screw those guys, I'm not gonna take the bait... Hey, It's St. Patty's Day, I should go find some green beer.

She yawns and walks away from the post....:P

Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!

Hey, for what it's worth , I UPSIZED yesterday!!

I normally jump an Omega 180 (which was in the shop) so I rented a Hornet 170 for the day.... One gets spoiled with those snively openings, ya know?

Does any one else see the error here?

Reply to the original post: Heck man, That 120 should be just fine. Put about 35 jumps on it andyou can borrow the 107 my friend has for sale.

Cheers.

In this thread, I thought that was a perfectly appropriate contribution:)
Now if you really want to downsize, I have a 20' round reserve you can try. Doesn't swoop worth a flip, though.

Hrm, that's almost the size of the smallest canopy we got at the DZ. Now that would be quite the downsize! The downsize to end all downsizes :D

Just make sure you wear good shoes. It's ALL in the shoes.

as long as they are stylish and don't clash with the container accents, then YEAh, it IS about the shoes...

If you weren't such a wussy, you'd go straight to a 68 sq ft crossbrace. A real man could handle a 220 sq ft reduction in canopy size in one jump.

Yeah... Strictly speaking that would be grammatically and technically correct. After all, the jump would be 99.9% identical - Get in the plane, jump out, freefall, open, steer, flare, land. All the $hit in the ambulance and intensive care afterwards isn't part of the jump....B|.
