DYEVOUT 0 #2 February 19, 2003 Oops, shit. Sorry about the link, I copied the URL while I had the stats up, but it takes you to the S&W search page. S&W claims this thing has 3 times the muzzle energy of a .44mag. Anyone know how it stacks up against the .475 & .500 Linebaughs? Haven't seen loading data as of yet. ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."

Viking 0 #7 February 19, 2003 you just can't beat an accurized(sp) Colt 1911 .45! well unless you like scarying the shit out of people with the huge muzzle flash of a .357 magnum! steve1 5 #8 February 19, 2003 This might be a good weapon, if you spend a lot of time in Grizzly country. I don't trust pepper spray. It might be big and heavy, yet it would still be handier than carrying a rifle everywhere. Steve1

AggieDave 6 #11 February 19, 2003 Quote you just can't beat an accurized(sp) Colt 1911 .45! I've outshot IDPC shooters with those setups before, using my Glock. That really pisses them off... Viking 0 #12 February 20, 2003 I ment as just a general fire every damn time you want it to gun! The design has been tested and proven in every war or battle from the first days of world WWII all the way to the early 90's i think it was. The only fun i would choose over a 1911 would be an HK USP .45 what glock do you have? and i have had the pleasure (not for my wrists though!) of shooting an old Ruger .30cal revolver. Not sure which gun it was. Viking 0 #14 February 20, 2003 well thats damn cool! Which do you like best? the 9mm the .40s&w or the .45? kinda sucks the 36 only holds 6 in the mag i guess if you hit somthing with a .45 its gonna give it a moment of pause ya know what i mean! edit: damn wouldn't you just love to get your hands on a Glock 18c!! mmmmmm fully auto mmmmmmmm I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin

fasterfaller 0 #19 February 20, 2003 It is very easy to control . If you keep a firm grip muzzle rise is minimal . I can put 30 rounds center mass in one burst in about a 4-6" group . A company called Hess Arms makes a conversion kit that will fit ALL glock models . The 10mm model is hard to control as well as the compact models . Viking 0 #20 February 20, 2003 all glock models? How does the G36 (or any other .45 glock) behave? oh ya why didn't the 10mm ever become a popular pistol load?I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
fasterfaller 0 #21 February 20, 2003 The .45 is very easy to control . It cycles a little slower than the 9mm and the .40 . The 10mm was never really adopted by shooters . The Bren 10 was the first 10mm that I am aware of . They have not been many guns chambered for the 10mm since then . The F.B.I. was going to switch to the 10mm several years ago but changed their minds because of overpenetration problems . Bullets that pass through the body tend to do less damage than the the ones that expend their energy and stay in the body . If you use pre fragmented ammo in a 10mm it is a DEVASTATING round that causes a HUGE wound channel . Overpenetration is not a problem with prefragmented ammo. AggieDave 6 #22 February 20, 2003 I hate the 36, its too small for my hands, I can't keep a grip on it. The 22C is nice, but sucks for self defense, due to the compisation. The blast going upwards would suck in close quarters shooting. My 9mm is my friend, I love shooting it, and with the right kind of rounds (federal hydroshock 147gr) it has a HELL of a lot of stopping power.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
