tadbad 0 #1 August 19, 2002 I did my AFP 1 jump yesterday. That was the most incredible experience ever!! I know I am addicted...and might as well look to sell all my belongings now so that I can fund my new hobby!! ----------------------------------------------------- When you're going to extremes...you taste adrenaline!! CanuckInUSA 0 #2 August 19, 2002 Welcome to the addicition. On Saturday morning I paid for five jumps thinking that that would be all I could do in two weekend days (hey my DZ is a Tandem Factory), but I ended up doing nine jumps in total thanks to the addiction and I can't wait to jump next weekend as well. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
PLFXpert 0 #3 August 19, 2002 Welcome! Yup, sell them now. I sold 3 surf boards, 2 wakeboards and all my gold jewelry (which I never wore anyways) to pay for my habit. Oh, and also sold my scuba gear. I still wakeboard/surf/scuba but now I borrow equipment, and I kept one really shitty surf board that I wouldn't have gotten much for anyways. I've been jumping for a year and a half and pretty much everything I spend my money on depends on how many jumps it will cost. So, sell away!
tadbad 0 #4 August 19, 2002 Hmmm...I never thought of selling my jewelry. Think it might be time to get rid of that rock that used to sit on my left hand....could get a LOT of jumps out of that!! ----------------------------------------------------- When you're going to extremes...you taste adrenaline!! tadbad 0 #7 August 19, 2002 I have to say...I am really worried about my financial future!! Is bankruptcy in my future? ----------------------------------------------------- When you're going to extremes...you taste adrenaline!!
PLFXpert 0 #8 August 19, 2002 Bankruptcy? Not necessarily. I consider myself a *responsible* skydiver. I work my ass of so I can skydive AND pay my bills. I have excellent credit and NO DEBT. Some people take one road, others take another, neither is right/wrong, just different choices. If you don't want to be bankrupt, you don't have to be and you can still skydive. nws01 0 #9 August 19, 2002 QuoteIf you don't want to be bankrupt, you don't have to be and you can still skydive. I am moving out of the hotel I am living in and getting a new place. The cost of real estate in New England is enough to make me sick. Plus I am ready for a new car. Plus the way the weather is here most people only jump from March - October. I will still be a skydiver but I will not be able to make 300 jumps a year.
wlie 0 #10 August 19, 2002 Congrats and welcome to the dark side. Now direct deposit your paycheck to the DZ and just draw whatever you need to cover rent, food, ++.
PLFXpert 0 #11 August 19, 2002 Yea, currently I'm a full-time student so I can only work part-time...Il make enough to pay my bills and make about 4 jumps a week. It's not 40 jumps a week, but it's good enough for now, until I have a full-time job and can increase my sky-intake.
goose491 0 #12 August 19, 2002 Congrats on your first skydive! Yup, my best moment was when I sold my Microsoft shares in order to buy a rig, I've not had to sell anything since then but I have promised my first-born son to Performance Designs and.... j/k Have fun bud! tadbad 0 #13 August 19, 2002 My problem is...I just put myself in debt putting a new hot tub in my house...so there is absolutely no $$$ to fund my new addiction. Guess I am off to find a part time job. Anyone wanna buy a hot tub? HAHA ----------------------------------------------------- When you're going to extremes...you taste adrenaline!!
