I want this bird.

I knew a guy once who wouldn't neuter his cats/dogs because he thought it would be cruel: he didn't want to deprive them of a sex life or something.:S

What he failed to take into account was that just because something is important to the psyche of a human does not mean that it has the same impact on the psyche of an animal.

For my little brother's birthday about 18 months ago, my mom got him a sun conure. We took Mango over from a lady who's husband said, "either the bird or me." I would soon understand that guy.

That parrot was an asshole! First, it was the loudest damn thing I ever heard. 6:00 a.m. on a weekend? That asshole parrot was screaming away constantly.

And boy, could that asshole parrot bite! Drew serious gushers on me for many times. What an asshole...

We finally got rid of the asshole parrot a few months ago. Now, a budgerigar (type of parakeet) is awesone! I taught my other brother's parakeet to say, "Nevermore." It's a cool bird!

I can tell you from experience that declawed cats are perfectly happy inside a warm house sleeping on the couch.

I agree. My kitty is happy as can be and she has no front claws.

do we know that it doesnt?? really?

i firmly believe in letting animals go thru at least part of the maturation process before subverting them to my convenience. i prefer animals that have very distinctive personalities. can an animal that is spayed/neutered before puberty actually be considered a member of either sex?? I can say i have personally noticed the difference in personality in cats that were fixed before/after puberty. they often seem to be missing some defining behaviors..(some good, some bad from my human stand point)

dont get me wrong I believe you should be able to raise your animals (within reason) however you wish..i just find somethings unnecessarily 'cruel'

How about a grey parrot. I've heard they are really smart and a lot of fun! I've even seen them with little brooms sweeping the floor. Man, if they only had lips and could cook I'd marry one.;)

Shouldn't have poked your fingers in his face.

You know, all I wanted him to do was "step up." That bird would usually step up. Unfortunately, every now and then asshole parrot would get in a bad mood and "SNAP!" More often than not it was to get the bird off of my shoulder after it screamed in my ear.

Parakeets! Not too loud, don't bite hard, can be pretty affectionate, and not too messy (other part of that parrot). Get a budgie!

Go ahead and get it, you know you want it! And she's beautiful! I used to have a Quaker parrot and a cockatiel. The parrot was very messy and very loud. The cockatiel was very quiet and very mean. But I loved em!

Next time you have to choose between two evils, choose the one you've never tried before.
