Soldiers my ass, skydivers is more like it.

Dude, your talking out your ass. Everyone of those guys is in the Army and has been pulling their share of the load BEFORE they went to the GKs. They've got it good but they are still serving their country.

Exactly, before they were in the GK's, but not now... Serving their country, yeah right... Look, it's ..... it's the Golden Knights, patrolling the skies..... I feel safer already.

Rich.

Most (all?) of them are active duty soldiers and could be in combat next week if they were needed.

Actually, The Golden Knights are one of the best recruiting tools the Army has. They are doing their part right now by encouraging others to join the military.

If they were needed to be out in the middle of a battlefield tomorrow they would be there, no questions asked.

Have you served in the military, Rich?

Some folks work in a chow hall, some clean, some push paperwork. they are ALL serving our country. Who's to define "serving our country"?
Don't think for a second that they wouldn't be shipped out somewhere to work on tanks or helicopters on any given day. Why must people feel the envious urge to knock them? Maybe it's because they are fucking outstanding skydivers in addition to outstanding military folks...
Long live the GKs... ;)

Well said Arlo, but you forgot one thing.

They are HOT;)

You know it is human nature to try and belittle something that you are envious of in order to try and boost oneself up. Be proud of these guys and their accomplishments as they are all damn good soldiers and shit hot skydivers.

Sunday at the Daytona 500 a GK team jumped in. They did a hop 'n pop with about eight people. I guess I'm jaded from having seen Ian, Shannon, and Rixter at Deland, but I thought it was kinda boring. Big Ass Chutes doing accuracy.

I was really surprised at the others in attendence, though. I figured they would be pretty impressed, but instead the 'necks around me were all, "Hurry up so we can see Junior!" I understood booing Mariah Carey ("We want Faith Hill!"), but not appreciating the Knights? People, go figure.
Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

These soldiers, in a GK capacity, are tools in which the Army uses for recruiting purposes..........hell, even recruiters are soldiers who are detailed for a special purpose.

GK's, keep up the good work and may your efforts continue to put potiential recruits in boots. ;)

Do I detect a bit of jealousy or are you just a dick? Maybe it's both. Either way, with an attitude like that I forsee a hot fork in your future. If you don't feel safe why dont YOU go join tuff guy?

Take your ass and that attitude over to the Wreck, you'll fit in fine.

Well, since they're all soldiers first, shouldn't they be somewhere overseas about to fight a war or something ?

Soldiers my ass, skydivers is more like it.

Actually, not only are they soldiers, but they are EXEMPLARY soldiers. I have spoken to them about what is necessary to just try out for the GKs.

A perfect disciplinary record for starters. Next, a completely positive attitude towards hard work and team effort. (Anyone who has creeped 8 or 9 4-way jumps a day knows what I mean.) They travel over 200 days a year. Sometimes more than one demo site per day. Most have 8 years in. The team captain had over 12 years.

Getting on the GKs is not just showing up one day and saying that you can skydive. Those guys have earned it.

Why not go up and introduce yourself one day? Talk to them. You know they can skydive already, but you will respect them as soldiers also.

GK's rock!

Actually, it's kinda funny...our coach, Stephan Lipp, was asked to fill in with the 8-way team for a month since one of them got hurt. He was jumping with them on Saturday (just training, not the meet). Seriously, what an honor! We're so proud. :D

It was like "one of these kids is not like the others, one of these kids just isn't the same..." If you've met Stephan, you know what I mean!
