SpeedRacer 1 #1 February 18, 2003 Well, a lot of us in the Northeastern USA are just trapped by the snow. Nothin' to do but drink beer, watch videos, and post whore. We got about two feet of snow here in Fredneck Maryland. I live downtown in a row house, so there's not much length of sidewalk to shovel, but its difficult to find places to put the snow. And my garage out back opens up to the alley behind the row of houses, which has two feet of snow, so it'll probably be awhile before I can drive. Anyone have any snow stories? Find any cats in the snow drifts? Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
AggieDave 6 #2 February 18, 2003 Yeah, "snowed in" it was in the '60s outside today...walked around in sandles and a cut off t-shirt...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
indyz 1 #3 February 18, 2003 My lawn is brown, with a few patches of mostly melted snow near the ditch. This is sorta unusual for Illinois is February.
Gawain 0 #4 February 18, 2003 Dude..I'll tell ya, I was snowed in with lots of clouds and rain last week, followed by partly cloudy days over the weekend and was almost snowed in today from a partly sunny day and 70 degrees... *Max unapologetically dons his Serengetis* So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! LouDiamond 1 #5 February 18, 2003 Dude , I went ooutside to find both of my cars snowed in with in excess of two feet of snow in front and back of the vehicle. When I pulled my Saturn forward the snow had a perfect imprint of my license plate and the words Saturn from the back bumper. The main roads are doing better(so I hear) but the side streets and neighborhoods are socked in still. Surprisingly enough, it's really not that cold. I was looking up at the sky today thinking, "if the clouds would just break we could probably jump in this". "It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

SpeedRacer 1 #7 February 18, 2003 Actually, a lot of people here might not understand, but I love snow. I even like big fat snowstorms like this one. Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
SpeedRacer 1 #8 February 18, 2003 Well, the middle parts of the streets are plowed, but all that snow is heaped up against the sides, further burying the cars of the poor saps who parked on the street. Some parts of the sidewalks are shoveled & some are not, so if you want to go anywhere, you need to walk in the street, which is dangerous, because there are some cars out there & the roads are slippery. So I'm kinda stuck in my house. It's weird...There's so much snow all over the place that when you walk down the sidewalk where it is shoveled, you're kinda walking in a trench with steep, high walls. Jimbo 0 #10 February 18, 2003 My car is surrounded by about 2 1/2 feet of snow, it's covering the doors and tires. I could have taken the time today to dig it out, but then I wouldn't have an excuse to stay home from work tomorrow. I'm hoping that the high temps tomorrow will melt the snow, otherwise I'll have to take off on Wednesday too. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. Daizey 0 #18 February 18, 2003 Yep! I am buried under a little over 2 feet of snow here on Long Island. But, I am having fun being snowed in on campus. We had a huge snowball fight today, built snowmen (or in my case, a sbowbear), went sledding and had a genuine good time. The snow is up to my waist! haha makes it interesting to walk around in! A lot of us did go hungary today though. Cafeteria on campus was closed, and most businesses in the area were too (didn't matter cause i couldn't go anywhere anyway) And of all the places that were open, none of them would deliver! I don't see why not, its only 2 feet of snow....lol *daizey*
sfc 1 #19 February 18, 2003 Snow? None of that over here, 6 jumps today, but it was a bit chilly at altitude.
Muenkel 0 #20 February 18, 2003 I do enjoy watching the mid-atlantic states freak out over 2 feet of snow. States of emergency, everything closed....yada, yada, yada. In the hills of Western Massachusetts, we also got the "Blizzard of 2003". We also got over 2 feet of snow. It ended around 7am and all our roads were cleared by 8am. I was at work by 8:30am. Just another snow squall for us. BTW, when I was living on Long Island, any storm that produced more than 6" of snow freaked me out. Much more moderate weather by the coast due to the warming from the Atlantic. I am in the Berkshires where 2 foot snowstorms are not that uncommon. We just plow and go.
