SkydiveMonkey 0 #1 February 17, 2003 Got SuSE running ok, I just need the "proper" GeForce 2 drivers. Only there's 3 different types on the nividia website. Which ones should I use? I got an Athlon 1Ghz (@ 1.2). Any more data you need can be provided.____________________ Say no to subliminal messages

SkydiveMonkey 0 #5 February 17, 2003 There's IA32, IA64, or AMD 64. I'm tempted with the AMD for obvious reasons, I just want to get it right ____________________ Say no to subliminal messages

The IA64 & AMD64 are for Intel Itanium & AMD Hammer 64-bit CPU based systems. Guest #9 February 17, 2003 You want the drivers that are peculiar to your video card's chipset, not necessarily the brand. I d/l'd the drivers (2) for my Nvidia card from their site for Suse 8.0 (the kernel revision is more important than the distribution, but see the data on the site. You probably know there are a few differences depending on your distro, and not all are supported. The most popular ones [Red Hat, Suse, Mandrake] are, though). The drivers loaded easily, and the accelerated games bundled with the distro worked fine (e.g., TuxRacer, Flightgear), but I had to do some tweaking in order to play Quake III."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."
