girthy 0 #1 September 12, 2012 I ordered my V3 a few months ago. I had a rigger measure me and order it. Its supposed to be complete in December. Today i double checked the measurements, and all the measurements seem a bit large. Waist, chest, torso, and leg strap are all a bit big some measurements by 2" over what i measured. Is this normal in case of jumping in cooler weather? or was this done incorrectly? Im going to call friday and question it, but wanted some insight first. Rule number 1 about measuring for jumpsuits and rigs: Don't measure yourself. If you were wearing more or less clothing (or baggier/tighter clothing) then the measurements will be skewed."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
girthy 0 #3 September 12, 2012 I guess my biggest problem was the torso measurement. I think i can measure it ok. Base of the neck to hipbone point measurement. im getting 2.5" larger measurement. This seems to be a lot and im guessing the main lift web will be to long?
likestojump 3 #4 September 12, 2012 one more time : self measure = all bets are off. Have someone else who can follow directions well measure you. Or pay hundreds of dollars to re harness. Your choice.
riggerrob 643 #5 September 13, 2012 When I worked at Rigging Innovations, less than 5 percent of the new harnesses drew complaints about poor fit. Half the complaintants had measured themselves. Bottom line, ask a rigger or tailor to measure you - while referring to UPT's measurement chart.
girthy 0 #6 September 14, 2012 Ok, thanks for the advice everyone. Just sucks because the DZ i went to and had it ordered from is just over 3hrs away. I'll call them tomorrow and talk with them. I want it to be perfect, just trying to avoid a drive.

After talking with UPT and sending some pictures back and forth (even visited their production floor), turns out, I didn't distribute the bulk properly in the reserve. Moral of the story: make sure your rigger knows how to pack the V3 or it could feel 'off'.
