Deuce 1 #2 January 16, 2003 I'm gonna go see Franck tonight on the way home. Carrol is very banged-up and was recently let up from the drug induced coma. Visitors were causing him distress, so his wife has asked us to leave him in peace for a while. JP

CanuckInUSA 0 #5 January 16, 2003 I don't know Carole, but it's a sobering thought when less than a month ago I was talking to Franck at Eloy about the joys of being a new skydiver and now I find out he's been injured jumping and was/is hospitalized. Deuce 1 #8 January 16, 2003 I went and visited Franck on my lunch. Mmmm, hospitals make me -not hungry-. Anyhow I woke him after I got high on his morphine drip, I only disconnected it for a minute and he won't miss it. They got like tons of that stuff in hospitals. He's recovered from the internal injuries enough that they fused a couple disks in his back day before yesterday. Turns out he doesn't have an L5 or something, so they fused the next one up. Rods and screws and stuff. He was hurting, but had the magic button. So when they get him a brace, he'll be able to get up and walk around. Pretty f*cking lucky for falling up to a hundred feet. He's due to get out in about 5 days. Expects to be skydiving again in 6 months. His wife talked to Carrol's wife, Carrol is off the respirator and is breathing with assistance but on his own. I don't know how that works, but that's what I was told. Carrol has pelvis, back, rib, and jaw fractures. He's making good progress. Keep the vibes coming. I passed along everybody's greets, we talked a while, his folks are in from France, and he had a trio of French-speaking visitors come in after about a half hour and I said Or-ree-vwah. Very nice to keep both these guys in your thoughts. JP He'll be fine, and he'll be back.

franck102 0 #10 January 23, 2003 Hi all, just a quick word to let everybody know that I am back home from the hospital today. I'm not supposed to spend much time sitting in frnot of the computer so the details will have to wait, but all in all I have been very lucky and everything is looking fine. Unfortunately I haven't had any recent news from Carrol. I know he has been slowly but steadily improving up to the point where they had scheduled starting surgery on his pelvis, though unfortunately this had to be postponed due to a minor infection. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, I am sure he can feel all the good vibes coming to him. PS: I haven't had time yet to track down all the relevant threads, please feel free to repost this message or a link to it in other threads. Deuce 1 #23 February 3, 2003 Good news! I got a note from Francie, Carrol's wife, Carrol's out of the ICU and is in the orthopedic ward. I think his next big hurdle is the hip-bones/pelvis surgeries he's got coming. I've got the flu, so I'll wait a couple days before I go see him.
