blewaway5 0 #1 February 4, 2003 Ok, here it is. I've moved back in with my mom and stepdad not too long ago, and I come home today a little early and catch my stepdad going through my room. He played it off like he was just passing through or something. Anyway, we don't get along so well, and I just wanted to vent Truman Sparks for President

jessd 0 #7 February 4, 2003 I would be mad if my parents we just going in my room and through my stuff. Unfortunately, the downstairs bathroom at my house is off of my room so people are in and out of there all day. Most of my things are in storage anyway so there's not much in here. JJohnson 0 #8 February 4, 2003 You ain't a kid and he ain't yer father. IF he had a valid reason, thats one thing....like maybe you got a track record of stealing his CD's.....But to go throught your shit for no reason other than he's nosy? That ain't right. tb62871 0 #9 February 4, 2003 Just because someone lets you use a room in their house it does not give you ownership of it. I stand by the if you dont like it go support yourself. --TB Welcome my friends to the show that never ends.
Slowfaller 0 #10 February 4, 2003 So you like to snoop through things? I'm not arguing the fact that if he doesn't like it, get out. I'm saying that his things, which he probably bought, should not be looked through because it's kept in a room that his stepdad owns.
goose491 0 #11 February 4, 2003 Quote Just because someone lets you use a room in their house it does not give you ownership of it. I stand by the if you dont like it go support yourself. Yeah but he's only asking if he should be pissed. I hope you voted 'hell yeah' because that sort of thing pisses normal peeps off. You're right that his parents own the house but for the most part a parent does not SNOOP around the kids room unless they are looking for something in particular and are gonna confront kid later (i.e. little Johnny is on the marijuana! I better find his stash and we'll have a talk when he gets home. Or as was mentioned, kid keeps stealin my CDs! I'm gonna go into his room and get them back) The only other situation where a parent snoops through their kids stuff is when they are doing a piss-poor parenting job and as blewaway has already mentioned, he and his step-dad don't get along too well. I assume if it there was a good reason to go through his stuff, his mom would have goten dibs on that chore. Go for the dropkick man! My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! tb62871 0 #12 February 5, 2003 I dont think that snooping is should be condoned, but we dont konw why we was looking either. It could be that the step dad is the thief of the CDs(or whatever if anything). Or there could be some concern over a behavior that he doesnot want in his home. --TB Welcome my friends to the show that never ends.
Slowfaller 0 #13 February 5, 2003 agreed. The original posts reads differently but I now see what you're saying.

Snowflake 0 #15 February 5, 2003 get a glassine bag some brown sugar, an insulin needle, and a spoon which should have a bent handle and char marks on the bottom. Place the contents in a paper bag where snoops can find it. Sit back wait and enjoy the fun

I had the feeling my mom was going through my schoolbag (I wasn't doing my homework) so I stuck two zip lock bags in there. One was filled with aregano (spelling?), the other with flour. You should have SEEN my mommys face when I got home from my friends place the day she had found them. Bwahaahaaa, that brings it back! My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! blewaway5 0 #17 February 5, 2003 That's why I asked if I shoud be pissed or not. As far as his reason for being in there, I honestly don't know. All I know is that he used to beat my mom and when I found out about it I told him to knock it off or he'd have someone a little meaner than her to mess with. He didn't appreciate it, came at me, and got an ass kicking. Ever since I've been trying to get out of here. Never had any problems other than that, but that is kind of a big one. akaGQ 0 #18 February 5, 2003 Id be pissed, that happens to me as well even though Im 24 my dad still thinks Im 12 and goes thru my room looking for drugs ad other things of that nature and of course he likes to play it off like its nothing or whatever but as he puts it it is his house and he is allowing me to stay here free of charge so I can argue but unfortunately Ill lose that one. But whatever ya know. Michele 1 #23 February 5, 2003 I'm not sure I'd be mad. If he found what he was looking for, you'd be dealing with it. Since he hasn't found it (or you'd've said something, I think) then there's no reason to lose it and get pissed. Just sit back and gloat a little. My comment is simply if I wanted to make sure no-one ever went through my stuff, I'd have my own place, and I'd be the one holding the keys...and paying the rent. He did it once that you caught...he's likely gonna do it again. I think the better question is not to be pissed or not; rather, it's "Why are you home?" and "are you willing to live by their rules and behavior, or is it time to get out and set your own rules?"...just my opinion, however, and worth exactly nothing in your world... blewaway5 0 #24 February 5, 2003 Oh, he didn't find whatever it was he was looking for, simply because there is nothing in there for him to find. As far as getting my own place, well, believe me, that's priority number one on my agenda. I've been saving practically every penny I get with that exact goal in mind. Problem is I need to get a car, too, since mine is pretty much dead, so that adds a little complication. Not too mention I need a job where I can make enough to do that. Anyway, I've pretty much taken the ignore him position. It was really funny watching him squirm when I almost bumped into him coming out of my room, though. I didn't say a word just walked right by him. In my honest opinion the problem seems to be that ever since we had our little boxing match....well, it's like in the wolf pack, that whole alpha dog thing. He feels like he lost that spot and now he's looking for any way to get it back. Truman Sparks for President
