CBurket 0 #1 January 31, 2003 Does anyone know of any dropzones near Stirling, Scotland, there's a chance I could study abroad there and I'm hoping there's a DZ around somewhere. I didn't see one on any web-sites though.
nacmacfeegle 0 #2 January 31, 2003 Hi Chris, http://www.skydivestrathallan.co.uk/ Is probably the closest being only about 1/2 an hour away, the town nearby has good public transport links, train/bus etc. http://www.paragonskydiving.20m.com/ Is not bad, I heard they had a fire, so don't know if they are still operating. http://www.skydivestandrews.co.uk/ Is where you will probably find me. All these DZs have accommodation, and other life support facilities. Generally if you don't have transport, you should call the DZ and they will put you in touch with someone who can probably give you a ride. Stirling is pretty central so anyone coming from the larger cities of Glasgow, or Edinburgh may be able to pick you up. Be warned though, skydiving in Scotland is not the same as jumping in the US. The above are pretty small DZs, mostly only operating at weekends, but we are a friendly bunch. The DZs have more of a cessna club dropzone to them, which is kinda nice. PM me if you need any other info.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.
