Jessica 0 #1 January 23, 2003 I'm scared. Nothing's touched my eyeball since I was 10 and my cat clawed it and I had to go to the emergency room.Skydiving is for cool people only
Sebazz1 2 #2 January 23, 2003 It will take a little while to adjust to them. I have been wearing contacts for 7 years now. It makes a big difference where you get them and who makes them. If you go to a good eye doctor they will fit better and irritate less. I hate wearing my glasses compared to my contacts. So over all I like them a lot. One day .... when I know for sure, I'll let them shoot laser beams into my eyes... Oh and tighten your goggles up good. That way if they pop out they stay inside your goggles... happythoughts 0 #4 January 23, 2003 Quote Oh and tighten your goggles up good. That way if they pop out they stay inside your goggles... Good note. If you ever lose a contact jumping, take off your goggles carefully and look at them. It is very likely stuck to the inside of the goggles.
lippy 918 #5 January 23, 2003 I've had a few come out in FF. It's kinda weird seeing that little blue thing fly out of your eye. Havn't had any actually lost though. Always stayed in the goggles OK.I got nuthin

I've had that happen about 5 times. I wear either glasses or regular contacts most times. But when I jump, I wear disposable contacts, so it is less problem if I lose one, although I never have. Jessica 0 #10 January 23, 2003 No lasik es possible...my vision is 20/30 in the "bad" eye, and they weren't sure they could improve it any. TheMonkey 0 #11 January 23, 2003 20/30 is not bad at all....do you even have to wear glasses all the time??? no worries, i wore contacts for 10 years before i got lasik, you will get used to touching your eye --------------------- Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience! fudd 0 #12 January 23, 2003 Just takes a little getting used to. After that it's no big deal. I would recomend dispoables. Then it's no big deal if you loose one. I've even svum with my contacts without loosing them. I've opened my eyes under water without loosing them. The only way I've managed to loose one is swimming under water with my eyes open. If you fall asleep with them they will become dry, and difficult to get out. The best then is to wait an hour before you take them out, so they soften up a bit. Another method of getting dry lenses out is to stick your head under water. Open your eyes and shake your head violently. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Wait till you get back to the packing area before removing them...trust me. Contacts aren't bad, Jess. jessd 0 #14 January 23, 2003 It took me about 2 weeks to get used to the. After having them for 10 years it feels weird to me to wear my glasses. I would like ot get the Lasik surgery - too much money for now. One of my my contacts did fall out of my eye on my second tandem. It was stuck on the goggles but It was all dried up and ruined. sunshine 2 #15 January 23, 2003 They're really not that bad Jess. After a week or so, you'll hardly even notice them. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!

lowpullin1 0 #17 January 23, 2003 once you are used to them you will never want to wear glass again. "It's hard to fly with the eagles when you are surrounded by turkeys." My Website
jerry81 10 #18 January 23, 2003 6 years here. I recently switched to one-month disposables, and they feel much better than my old ones. The only problems worth mentioning are my eyes drying out a bit faster (nothing eyedrops couldn't fix), especially if I drink too much or hang around in places full of cigarette smoke (or maybe it's just one of those things, since they usually coincide) and the lenses popping out if I ski or fall too fast without tight goggles (you might want to get new goggles that have as few air vents as possible and are padded with foam all around). And when you get used to it, touching your eyeballs is great for freaking out friends .
Jessica 0 #19 January 23, 2003 OK, I just got back from my appointment. Having something on my eyeball is super weird. It took me an hour of near-hysterics to figure out how to take it on and off. However, it's very cool to be seeing this well with no glasses. Skydiving is for cool people only
sunshine 2 #20 January 23, 2003 Yay for you. One important piece of advice. If for some reason you fall asleep with them in, do NOT take them out right after you wake up. You need to put in eye drops and let them rehydrate. Otherwise it will feel like you're pulling off your whole damn cornea. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! jessd 0 #22 January 23, 2003 I've done that a few times after a long night of drinking. That hurts when you take them off even when you put some drops in. It once left the fine red circles on my eye. sunshine 2 #23 January 23, 2003 QuoteThey gave the kind you only have to take out once a month! Woo woo! Next week I'm going to have purple eyes! Thats cool. I have the 2wk disposable ones. When it's time for my next eye appt., i'm gonna see about getting green ones. Problem is most colored contacts only go to a -6 prescription. So if i'm lucky enough to find a brand that makes my scrip, they'll prolly be super expensive. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! Jessica 0 #24 January 23, 2003 I have green eyes. They're kind of light and weird-looking. People ask me all the time if they're colored contacts. But, I want purple eyes! To match my gear!Skydiving is for cool people only
jessd 0 #25 January 23, 2003 Sometime my eye doctor or different contact makers run specials where you can get the colored ones pretty cheap. I usually ask when I go.
