AggieDave 6 #3 January 28, 2003 That sucks! Atleast he got away from it. I've often wondered how in touch those guys are with the train schedule and stuff. I've been watching the RR lay new track and fix the track next to it on the line that runs through campus (well, between Main campus and West campus) here at Texas A&M...must be an interesting job.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." IronMike 0 #4 January 28, 2003 Theres really no schedule, at least not one that people use to work on the track. Trains run on signals, just like traffic signals. The inspectors have to have the dispatcher block the track they are going to be on so that they cant give signals to a train. This guy had one track blocked to protect him, then mistakenly got on the adjacent track. It is almost impossible for a dispatcher to run trains into each other. The only way that happens anymore is if the train crew ignores the yellow and red signals. Very little room for error.
