rhino 0 #12 January 17, 2003 I am not a Warrant Officer.. With 8 years in the Marines as a Sgt. I qualify for the Warrant Officer program.. That's the easy part.. Flight school lasts a year. And yes after flight school I could and would move straight into apaches. Getting and staying at the top of the class would be easy as well..... sarge 0 #19 January 17, 2003 ok, sorry, (some 'fine' details appear) I apologize. I went in the corps, I thought at the time, for my family. I was away ALOT. All they ever wanted was for me to be there, I thought I was doing them a favor in the long run. It was costlly for me, and them. Now, I wish I had been there, for all those priceless and un-recoverable moments of their lives.... My X never forgave me. It put them through a lot not by them not knowing where I was or what might be happening to me. I believe, for me, If I want to fly, and don't, that dream will die with me alone. If I want to fly and do and die, I kill the dreams of those who just want to be with me. Good luck, you're in my prayers-- I'm done with the personally meaningful and philosophical sigs!! rhino 0 #20 January 17, 2003 Well.. I could start with the Apache..lol
Zenister 0 #21 January 17, 2003 well if you made it thru marine boot you'll probably make it thru WOC, the only difference is they really want you to quit there so you do the most inane things under the sun..but after you graduate you may want to think about something other than apaches, that is if you like to fly..apache pilots get the fewest flight hours of all the rotor pilots because of the maintenance time (nearly 100 hours per flight hour) and mujie is right, army aviation is really frickin spoiled… might as well join the chair force.. on the plus side once your done you can get a job flying skiers and snowboarders into the back country for some really cool shit... zen actually got a recruiter relieved for outright lying about the flight school options for army enlistment..still it worked into a good job and i still get to play with the longbows... good luck____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
