SiVi_fhreg 0 #1 November 8, 2012 Hi folks, I would like to get a better understanding how the conversions done to the original Capewell release do work in detail. Cable kit Mod: - Has the security cover to be removed the same way as on the original Capewell? - Is the activation lever with the cable loop secured to the male fitting? - What happens when pulling the cable loop compared to the original Capewell? "Oneshot": - When pulling down the cover the slider is also activated right? I did notice that safety precautions got less from time the original Capewell was developed. is that correct? On the early button-style release you had to remove the cover first, then unsecure the activation lever from the male plate by pushing the buttons and then pull down the lever to release. So you there were two security measurements installed so that someone couldn't activate the release mechanism by accident. With the cable kit release you have got one security measurement (cover) and what about the one-shot? If anyone owns a cable kit capewell or a one-shot could you please make some pictures of the releases when partially activated? It would help me a lot to understand the mechanisms. Thank's in advance, Simon
pchapman 279 #2 November 8, 2012 One shot operation got mentioned in this post onwards: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4369765#4369765 (Differing opinions on whether it was 'just pull them down hard' or 'pull open, then give them a knock downwards') The 'safety precautions got less' in order to make it easier to activate in the air, something the original design wasn't intended for. Here are some pics of a 1 1/2 shot being opened. (Sorry, pretty crappy fuzzy webcam captures, was set up too close and on low res mode.)
