78 mph in Cajon CA. No shit. Power lines and trees are down from San Diego to Victorville.

Winds will be keeping us indoors again today. [:/] Well, at least it's in the 80's, nice and warm...

So, again, why are these called "Santa Ana's"?

Why is all the bad weather stuff out here have a Spanish/Mexican nomenclature? El Nino, El Nina/ Santa Annas/ Mexican Standoffs/ Earthquakes....
What the hell did the Spaniards ever do to us?

Just another example of the man puttin the brother down!

No shit is right. All the way from halfway up the Grapevine to just past Riverside I was fighting seriously gusty winds but I had no idea they were quite that strong. Saw about 15 green "flashes" (I'm assuming from transformers blowing out) between Pasadena and Riverside.

Sure hope all that blowing dust and sand and those tumbleweeds I ran over didn't hurt the rental car.

Im not going to ask why you have a rental. Im sure Keely told you why I have mine....My car is STILL not done. My rental is caked with mud and all the lettering is gone off the sidewalls from donuts in the DZ parking lot last time it rained like hell. I refuse to wash it. Camrys do great E-brake slides at about 65.

Got the rental cuz there's no way I was gonna drive my p.o.s. 900 miles round trip. They gave me a 2003 Nissan Altima; pretty comfy and it has a decent stereo in it too. It's going to be very difficult to go back to the "bouncing bomb" (it needs shocks.... really really badly) when I have to give the rental back tomorrow.

Dang! I remember that sort of weather when we were ther in the '70s. Went from Victorville to Long Beach the day after and there were at least six semis lying on their sides in the Cajon Pass. I asked a CHiP about the accidents and he told me there were no "accidents", they had simply been blown over!

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

Thanks for the links! Especially liked the second song. B|

Unfortunately, I'm typing this from my old dog of a pc machine that I retired a year ago. My new computer seems to have bit the dust while I was away at work today.[:/] It has electricity to it, but it won't fire up when prompted. Geeze, and I had my Mom and Dad's 50th anniversary project on there too. :( Hope the HD is ok. Off to the repair shop tomorrow.

Damn Santa Ana's!>:(
