propblast 0 #1 December 26, 2012 Paracommander in a bellywart? Can it be done? Anyone seen it done?Propblast
pchapman 279 #2 December 26, 2012 I dunno, I guess it can be done. PC's are huge, even if in a bag not a sleeve, so it isn't going to go into any standard container. But you could sew up some simple container that fits, and then hook up the canopy to either extra 3 rings on one's harness or a 2nd harness underneath. Getting the large container to clear one's regular handles might be an issue, so it might need to hang fairly low, to be more of a 'belly & lap' container than a 'belly & chest' container. stratostar 5 #3 December 26, 2012 You are posing more then one question here. 3. A. to 1... no won't fit any current made or old school bellywarts. A. to 2. yes A. to 3, no not with a PC If you could provide some more details as to what it is you are trying to do and why you think you want to do it that way and with a PC, those of who still fool with them and those who used to fool with them and have rigged up all kinds of crazy shit...... might be better able to provide you with an in depth way to go about what you want to do and a reasonably safe way to attempt it..... Or not YMMV. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
councilman24 37 #4 December 26, 2012 Even a RW PC in a bag it would be the size of a very heavy and plump queen size bed pillow. I just packed one last week in an old sport conventional back rig. Someone would have to make a custom container, At 92 jumps my guess is what ever your thinking it's not going to work. See the thread on C9 or T10 for my post on how to make a jump on a round in your skydiving rig. My guess is you want to jump one but cut it away and not land it. You wimp. I'm old for my age. propblast 0 #5 December 27, 2012 Terry, I'm not "to" afraid of the landing I have a little over 120 landings on T10 and various other rounds... Well in all honesty I was just curious "if" it had been done and if so how. I know intentional cutaway rigs have been done in the past I had never heard of a PC being used. Purely academic as I figured it was way to big. ETA: just read the post on the phantom. I too have a setup similar to this with a 26' in it.Propblast
