Scary, but I guess that's true. But wait! Mindcake 0 #229 December 14, 2002 QuoteActually, I have never felt oppressed. If anyone has been oppressive to me, it has been myself and sometimes my self-imposed limitations. I really have been very fortunate in my life...Great family, great friends, excellent education, good jobs (well mostly), excellent medical care when needed, always a roof over my head and food on the table. Considering the state of the world these days, if I was to complain, I would say I am pretty shallow. It helps them deal with the pain. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

And it applies to most of America regardless of sexual orientation too. I've gone 37 years without any significant problems due to discrimination for ANY cause. Notice I said "significant." Yes, I've probably lost out on some good party invitations, and I've been called nasty names, and a couple of times drunks have even gotten in my face and waved their fists around. I consider that all part of being on a planet with other humans. The desire for absolutely pure safety at all costs boggles me. I've had the same thing done to me (mostly by my ex), and I'm a straight, white female. Go figure! LOL! I partially agree, while I certanly think that there is a segment of society that constantly feels sorry for its self I have also seen real discrimination based on both sexual orentation and race. I just think the feel sorry for me people get more press than the real discrimination cases do I.E. calling the ACLU because you told your boss to F*&K OFF (because he told said person to do there job) and after getting fired they want their job back. Jim AMEN to that. I couldn't get anywhere until I realized it didn't matter how or what the next guy was doing but, what could I do in my life to make things better.
