Casch 0 #3 December 12, 2002 Wouldn't a springloaded pilot chute be considered a deployment sys? Or does it fit under one of those categories listed?

relyon 0 #6 December 12, 2002 I used to jump a pull out with a hackey handle, but now I use a hybrid pull out where the pilot chute is stored externally in the BOC pouch with a floating handle inside the mesh.

homer 0 #8 December 12, 2002 I use one that works all except my 54th jump when I had my new collapsable put on and it didn't. It collapsed causing a pilate chute in tow thanks to my rigger hooking it up wrong (DUMB ASS). Atleast the reserve he repacked 3 days prior worked. blueshrew 0 #10 December 12, 2002 Pull out rocks, if you take care while packing it. It can't fall out or get tagged out, and it definitely looks waaay better on smaller rigs. I once got a hard pull cause I packed it using the flap order in the manual (Odyssey RS1) and pushing the grommet way too much in the center. But a very experienced rigger who also jumps a small Javelin suggested a different packing order, and it works great. Will never jump anything else. I must admit, I liked jumping a pull out set up, but changed when I went with big (huge!) wings for camera flying, then changed over to BOC throwout.... RevJim 0 #15 December 12, 2002 I only checked BOC throw out cause that's all I use, but....... Both of my rigs are set up for both ROL and BOC. Both are equipped with a leather hackey. The Sabre 135 in the Vector 2 has a kill line pilot chute. The Sabre 150 in the Javelin has a bunge pilot chute. It's your life, live it!
