Skitzo 0 #1 December 11, 2002 I'm so proud of my daughter, Samantha, I just have to share! Her class had to give an oral report on any topic that they were proud of. She picked the Jump for the Cause event. I'll only type her first paragraph she wrote so you all can have an idea of how it went, her words, her spelling: In Paris, California they set a womens world record. There were 131 women on the jump. They had to practice 13 times. They practiced 6 days in a row. When they were finelly ready to go up it took 7 airplanes. In this jump they raised $400,000 for people with cancer! They were together for 10.73 seconds. To get together it took 53 seconds. To hold on for 10.73 seconds is a long time because you are falling at 100 to 111 mph. There's more, but thats the gist of it, Her teacher told her it was the best report out of the whole class! She gave her an A+!!! She took the copy of Parachutist with her and all the kids were freaking out over it. All the kids thought she was sooo cool. (And she is!) She said even the most shy boy in the class was fighting to see the magazine. I'm just SO PROUD of her, and to all that were involved with the Jump for the Cause 2002, thanks for giving my daughter something that wonderful to write and give a speech about!!! skymama 37 #7 December 11, 2002 Well, I'll give her a reply too- her report rocked! Tell her I think she's very cool because my 14 year old daughter is afraid to jump. But I do have a son who's 11 who wants to jump. Hey wait a minute....he's 11, your daughter is 11, they both want to jump, we both live in Fl....this could be cool! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
