I loved "The King and I" for some reason. I remember watching it four times in one day. My sister and I used to watch it every time we went to our grandma's house.

Back To The Future (all 3 of them).

The summer when I was 12 or 13 I think I watched all three of those movies once a day or so. Still to this day I can still damn near quote the movies line for line, even though I haven't actually watched them in a very long time...

I loved the Goonies too, though. Actually, there were quite a few movies that I really enjoyed (well, I love movies, so that was normal for me), but Back to the Future(s) was the movie that stands out.

Oh, that's easy! Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

In fact, I think it's STILL my favorite movie. I also have first edition copies of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator and most of Roald Dahl's other great children's books.

Actually! Now that I've had a few hours to think about this one, I'd have to say I grew up on
Grease
Never Ending Story
The Dark Crystal
Gremlins
Ghost Busters

OK....I can go on for ages. But I just had to add those

Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after

Another vote here for The Sound of Music, and it's still one of my favorites. And, I might add, some of you are picking movies that I saw as an adult, not a kid. There's something terribly wrong with that!

Holy cow! How could I forget Pete's Dragon and Flashdance, even Romancing the stone! I had the Flashdance soundtrack and went through a couple copies of that, as well! I used to pretend I was the dancer...ha hah a....I had warm-up socks and a leotard and the works!:P

Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Probably "Hatari!"

After we watched that, the broomsticks and clotheslines were all co-opted to animal-trapping duty, and no dogs were safe.

My Side of the Mountain also a -great- set of books. If you have a kid of Boy Scout age, then it's a must watch & read.

The first book was written in 1959 and I believe the last book in the series was just written recently. I haven't read it yet.

The movie was released in 1969.

If you read the books or watch the movie, I think you'll find it interesting that what -could- have been perfectly acceptable at the time they were made, would be almost unthinkable today.

Still, lots of really cool stuff in the books (a little less so in the movie) about how to live off the land and such. Realy cool. Kid even learns falconry. Anybody remember the name of the skydiving falcon that was featured in Parachutist? Well, guess where the name came from?
