I have heard that a cat can withstand a freefall of more than 100 feet, because of the density of it body compared to it's surface area. A dog? Not so talented. Cats get real messed up from the 30-60 foot range, before terminal (CAT) velocity is reached, and before they can use windspeed to their advantage. A dog? I don;t know.
