wlie 0 #1 December 2, 2002 Not the movie. But the US $. Says in this short read that the $20 bill will the the first in line next year to go color. AggieDave 6 #2 December 2, 2002 Yeah, I was reading about this earlier today...every change it seems that we're getting closer and closer to having Monopoly money...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

aneblett 0 #4 December 2, 2002 Sweet revenge on all of those Americans that laughed at me when I was on vacation and reached into my poocket to get some green and a few coloured canadian bills showed through... ...I told them that I would get them.... Yeah, we're pretty far behind the rest of the world. US money is probably some of the easiest to counterfit. Have you ever seen currency from almost any country in Europe?it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
GrumpySmurf 0 #8 December 2, 2002 Amen to that - that'll show those Yanks we had the right idea all along. Next we will having them change 'color' to 'colour' (or if we are real sadistic - to 'couleur' ;) )
wlie 0 #9 December 2, 2002 I guess not just the color, but the size as well. When I lived in Singapore, their denominations were all different. And about the time I left, they were coming out with plastic money in place of paper. Really cool looking things you'd want to frame and hang 'coz it's got transparent parts and hologram. I think Australia's got them too.My other ride is the relative wind.

happythoughts 0 #11 December 2, 2002 Quote Yeah, we're pretty far behind the rest of the world. US money is probably some of the easiest to counterfit. Have you ever seen currency from almost any country in Europe? The Canadians are lucky. It costs more to counterfeit than it is worth. Even bank robberies are going down. "What? Carry all that? Are you trying to give me a strain?" At the hardware store: "We're here to steal all your metal bolts...No..none of that 'cash' stuff, just the bolts." Jimbo 0 #12 December 3, 2002 QuoteAnd about the time I left, they were coming out with plastic money in place of paper IIRC, that plastic money is really printed on mylar. Besides being more difficult to counterfit, the bills printed on mylar last significantly longer than bills printed on paper. The end result, the mint spends less money making money. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
mouth 0 #13 December 3, 2002 it's about time we got with the program. Even the countries in the Caribean have cooler money than we do. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.

jumpy 0 #16 December 3, 2002 Quote I think Australia's got them too. Yep our Aussie notes have got little clear windows and a cirlce that has to ligne up on both sides. Can't remember when it changed to the 'plastic' stuff exactly.. something like 10 years ago i guess. I was pretty little. They where massive to. Anyone seen pacific money..all of the stuff seems like its counterfeit! In New Caledonia there 1 and 2 franc coins are literally plastic!
