jzzsxm 0 #1 January 27, 2013 I have a newly stuffed container and am looking for a more glamorous place to put it than the ground. What do you guys do to store your gear at home? Do you have an aluminum pole sticking out of one of your walls? I'm eyeing this Kickstarter, think this could be good? Thanks guys.
SEREJumper 1 #2 January 27, 2013 A couple options out there already that might work for you. http://www.chutingstar.com/gear/aluminum-hanging-rig-rack http://www.chutingstar.com/gear/gorilla-skydiving-gear-hangerWe're not fucking flying airplanes are we, no we're flying a glorified kite with no power and it should be flown like one! - Stratostar
drop-bear 0 #3 January 27, 2013 The 2012-2013 Para Gear catalog lists RR2006 and RR2006C rig racks which looked pretty good (page 165), but searching for these part numbers on their website draws a blank. Maybe these have been discontinued? Anyone used these before? Had been considering ordering one soon myself.
strife 0 #4 January 27, 2013 I got one of my mates to knock me up a couple http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee414/damhigi/IMG_3716.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee414/damhigi/IMG_2480.jpg they make great bow stands as well http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee414/damhigi/IMG_3669.jpg
demon4o7 0 #5 January 27, 2013 I also use http://www.chutingstar.com/gear/aluminum-hanging-rig-rack W 2 inch diameter I'm not worried about hurting hard housing etc. Works for me and it's color matched.
J-Rock 0 #6 January 27, 2013 I go to the hardware store and buy a piece of PVC pipe and a clothesline hook for about $3 and it makes a good rig hanger. All you have to Sonia drill a hole in the pipe for the hook. I also made the rail out of pre threaded pipe and some fittings, see pic Im gonna need a bigger hammer.... irishrigger 32 #7 January 27, 2013 I am not a big fan of hanging rigs of a rack. i have seen some rigs where the palstic in the riser covers gets bend out of shape. in my rigging room i have lots of shelves where i can lay down the rigs flat and also buy a plastic storage bin that would fit your rig, i find that the best way to store a rig. rodger
Xitesmai 0 #8 January 29, 2013 This isnt really new. We use these for hanging up scuba gear all the time. This would probably work if you need to hang it. http://www.leisurepro.com/Catalog.aspx?op=ItemDisplay&ProductID=UKTSBCH But I agree that a storage bin is a superior storage solution. racerman 0 #9 January 31, 2013 I have two of them. They take very little space when broken down. I take them along when I go to boogies, beats the heck outta throwing $5,000 rigs on the ground!
Pilotkev33 0 #10 February 5, 2013 I went to Loews and made myself a hanger for 15 bucks. 2ft 1.5" PVC pipe 2 end caps U bolt and 90 degree bracket. Slapped it up on the wall and hangs my 2 rigs beautifully
RyanFYF 0 #11 April 11, 2013 I had a spare queen mattress in my guest room so I decided to keep my rig nice and comfy and tucked in the blankets resting on the pillow and told the inlaws to get a hotel room! It's been great!

grndd 0 #16 October 7, 2015 We came up with a different idea of storing our rigs. Let me know what you guys think. www.grndd.de Thomas team grounded
councilman24 37 #17 October 7, 2015 In 35 years the rig in a gear bag setting in the closet has been just fine. Including when the main is open because I want to drink instead of pack after the last load. A solution without a problem. In a house with pets or kids more protection than a dust cover is needed. 682beretta 1 #18 October 7, 2015 I'm with councilman, an open main in a gearbag with a quarter million miles on it has served me well. Barney
