hottamaly 1 #31 November 25, 2002 I really didn't know how to respond to thisI lost my mom 1 1/2 years ago and now my dad wants nothing to do with holidays and lives in another state. My brother and sis also live 2000 miles away and for the first time in my life I don't even have a boyfriend to share the holidays with. I really didn't want to come across sounding sorry for myself, but it's this time of the year that one reflects on past holidays and I even go through my photo albums to remember the "good ol" days. I do get lonely and try to tell myself that "it's ok" but sometimes it isn't! Sorry, had to vent a little. I know I have my skydiving family that I'm starting to depend on more and more, and that is scary too. (my dependence, that is) Can we say rut? Everyone, please have a Great Thanksgiving and a Very Merry Christmas... Skydiving gave me a reason to live I'm not afraid of what I'll miss when I die...I'm afraid of what I'll miss as I live

WFFC 1 #33 November 25, 2002 Look at this side too...parents are in Illinois, I'm in Colorado...decided last minute to fly home for Christmas...Was literally only supposed to be there for 36 hours...Took me 3 days to get home... Holiday travel is not always the best and sometimes the stress of the family isn't worth the journey...----- ~~~Michael

skymama 37 #35 November 26, 2002 I'm going to be a little sad this Thanksgiving too. This is the first holiday ever that I'll be without my kids. At least I'll be around 15 family members at my mom's house, but it's still not the same without my babies. So, to lift my spirits, I'm going to head out to Z-hills over the weekend (first!), where I'm going to camp-out (first!), jump with some new friends (first!), and maybe even become a Muff Brother (first!), a Bumpy Brother (first!) and see just how wild jraf actually is at the dz (first!). Woohoo! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
slotperfect 7 #36 November 26, 2002 That's a great idea. I acknowledge you for your willingness to reach out to those without special plans for these important holidays. You and your friends will be rewarded a hundred fold for giving of yourselves that way. *SP bows deeply*
