arlo 0 #3 October 24, 2002 Hi Keely... i know you asked for one near perris, but if you would like an "out-of-town" option, Dr Joel Shugar has performed most of the Lasik operations on the folks I know in Deland. He's a skydiver, but an outstanding eye doc. List of patients that I know of: Gary Beyer of Airspeed Kim Griffin of Birdman Lise Aune of the Norgies Lucie Samuel, massage therapist extraordinare David van Greuningen of PD Blue / Genesis ..and these are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I don't know his website right off hand, but check www.skyleague.com (the NSL website) and there is a link to Dr. Joel's website. He's a skydiver, too, and offers a skydiver discount. He's got thousands to his name and is world reknown for his work. ...no i have no vested interest in Dr. Joel or his eye center. I just know lots of people that swear by him. :) hope this helps, arlooh yeah, his office is in Perry, FL, not Deland.
MGSkyFlyer 0 #4 October 24, 2002 Hey sweetie~ I had lasik done in the newport beach are, by Dr Tooma...I was very pleased with the whole staff and the results. I had it done back in 98, of couse when it was about the price of a brand new rig ouch lol.... I wasn't as blind as I thought I was when I went in for the procedure, was done in what was just minutes....was so surreal I had worn glasses or contacts my whoel life and all that changed in literally minutes. I had an istigmatism...lol sorry that is spelt wrong. I was corrected to 20/15....I actually do wear contacts now to keep my vision at 20/15...although without I'd see 20/20...I know sounds weird, but 20/20 isn't sharp for me. Hmmm what else can I tell ya...if you need any more questions to be answered flip me an email and I will send ya my phone number.... here's the LASIk info! mujie96 0 #6 October 24, 2002 How long did you wait to start jumping again? I'm as blind as a bat and can't even afford it right now, but someday I might want to do it. Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....
MGSkyFlyer 0 #7 October 24, 2002 Jess I know this isn't any help, but I had it done 10 months before I took my first jump...maybe there's some other jumpers that have had it done while they were active...anyone? Buellar? Buellar?
Shotgun 1 #8 November 25, 2002 Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who gave me advice on the Lasik! I now have an appointment to have it done on January 15 with Dr. Tooma :-) Oh, and it still costs about as much as a new rig :-( But I'm kinda scared of those cheaper places... Oh well, handing over that much cash won't seem so bad once I'm able to see! Thanks everyone! :-)
