PhillyKev 0 #1 November 20, 2002 Copied from the website: Last Wednesday night we were excited to welcome back John, Kruse, and Rob in the brand new toy. We now have a full-time Alouette II Helicopter as part of the Cross Keys fleet. It is very cool, and climbs as fast as the Otter. It holds 4 jumpers, and is so stable you can launch a 4-way right off the struts. This "scream-machine" was very popular at the Keys Boogie, and now it will be here full-time! Check out our Helicopter Jumps for $25, or, our Early Bird Whirly Bird Special of $20 before 9am on weekends! Here is a picture of an Alouette II:

quade 4 #8 November 20, 2002 Those are way cool helicopters -- mostly known for their power. Ugly as sin, but then again most helicopters are. Chopper of choice for the TV series "Max Headroom".quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

jceman 1 #10 November 21, 2002 Quote Ugly as sin is an understatement.... Just how ugly is sin anyway? Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
Scoby 0 #11 November 21, 2002 OK, I looked at the website and saw that there will be jumping while I'm in Pennsylvania! Man, I'm stoked! What's it like jumping in the winter in New Jersey?
wingnut 0 #12 November 21, 2002 scoby,..... COLD!!!!!! can ya actually fit 4 jumpers in that thing?? it looks awful small even to craming in jumpers like we are used to in a 182......and philly, what's jump altitude outa that thing???? ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"
JumpHog 0 #13 November 21, 2002 This is one cool jumpship! I made a jump from it this morning and was very impressed. To say that this thing climbs fast is an understatement. It climbs faster than any Otter I've ever been in. The picture that Kev attached is pretty much what this one looks like (minus the target on the side). It is painted in the same military-green color. I kept singing the M.A.S.H. theme song every time I watched it fly by. If you're in the area, you should definately stop by and make some jumps from it. Where else are you going to get $20 helicopter jumps? See you soon at X-Keys. Blue Skies. Jimbo 0 #15 November 21, 2002 Quote so now ya gotta ask yourself... what does the WFFC have that CK's doesnt'? A two seater PITTS.... For now. BTW: We do have a balloon, it's just a pain in the ass to get the pilot to fly it. In his defense of course it's a pain in the ass for him to find jumpers to provide a competent ground crew. I almost forgot to mention, we've even been known to have a MIG on site once or twice. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. wingnut 0 #17 November 21, 2002 QuoteA two seater PITTS well they do have a stearman... it's pretty close............and when i jumped it it only cost me 17 bucks!!!!! ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"
weid14 0 #18 November 21, 2002 I'm thinking a real two seater pitts is on the horizon. Bagel is going to have every A&P rating on the planet if this keeps upDove - John bought it, I'm sure he'll lease it out at times, but I imagine for the big CK's events it will be right there. PhillyKev 0 #19 November 21, 2002 Quotecan ya actually fit 4 jumpers in that thing?? I haven't seen it or heard anything about it other than what I posted. Just happened to run across the news on the website. But I looked up some specs on that model and it says it takes the pilot plus 4 passengers. I'm guessing one in the shotgun seat and 3 in the backseat?
Jimbo 0 #20 November 21, 2002 QuoteWill that thing a permanent fixture? What I really wanna know is.... will it still be there next Memorial Day for the Jam? John bought the thing (it's not a winter rental,) so I'm guessing it will be there until he gets something bigger. I *heart* my dropzone. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends.
