ChileRelleno 0 #1 November 15, 2002 My wife and caught the 11am matinee, we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Kid was in school, just us together at a movie... Oh yeah and the movie was really good, very entertaining. ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868

SkyDolphin 0 #3 November 15, 2002 Well, considering the movie just came out a few hours ago, most of us haven't had a chance to see it yet. I will be there in about 2 hours. Already have my tickets. R

Guest #6 November 15, 2002 rottentomatoes.com has it at 77% today, though that may change over the weekend. I never go see a movie without consulting rottentomatoes.com first."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."

quade 4 #9 November 16, 2002 Good. Special effects were much better but the script still has a LOT of problems with trimming down scenes for screenplay format as opposed to novel format. Some scenes could have been cut entirely and it wouldn't have really affected the storyline, but would have made it much more viewable. Even in the "important" scenes the timing of the edits was sometimes lacking. Trimming 5 or 6 frames here or there would do wonders for the pacing. Also, be sure to watch for the incredible continuity issues with the kids as they obviously shot a bunch of stuff awhile ago and then came back for reshoots. In particular, watch Hermione's face be chubby in one shot and then much thinner in the next. Story is close to the book, but perhaps a bit too close and could have used a lot of cutting -- the film is -way too long- for the average American kid (or adult for that matter).quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
AggieDave 6 #10 November 16, 2002 I love the Harry Potter books, read the 4 that are out, really enjoyed them. I also really enjoyed the 1st movie, haven't seen the second one, but I'm sure its still fairly good. We'll see in a couple days..--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Skystorm 0 #11 November 16, 2002 I loved the books, but hated the 1st movie. Didn't do the book justice. Doubt if I will go and see the 2nd movie. Gene Police: "YOU!! Out of the pool, NOW!!!"

WFFC 1 #13 November 16, 2002 Harry Potter doesn't interest me when Lord of the Rings is just over the horizon...OK Fine, I'm a geek...I've read all Lord of the Rings books...(twice)----- ~~~Michael
quade 4 #14 November 16, 2002 Hey, I read the LOTR book when I was a kid and the HP books a little over a year ago. There's more than enough room in my head for both.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
ChileRelleno 0 #15 November 16, 2002 All sorts of potentially good movies being released, "Lord of the Rings" and "Die another day" are amongst my must see list. As for the sometimes dubious world of television it looks like the epic mini-series "Taken" is going to be worth watching ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
Pammi 0 #16 November 16, 2002 We're seeing it this evening, we bought tickets early so we wouldn't have to wait in lines. I'm not a big Harry Potter fan, but my daughter read all the books almost as they came out, so of course we HAVE to go. I'd rather go to a 'grown-up' movie :)

sunshine 2 #18 November 18, 2002 The beginning was really good. I was just so tired i ended up falling asleep in the movie theater. Oh well, that'll teach me to go to a 2 1/2 hour movie at 9:00 at night. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! Pammi 0 #21 November 18, 2002 It was pretty good...better then the first. I still am not a huge Harry Potter fan. (I think though it's mostly because it's all I hear about from my daughter and I'm pretty tired of it by now, though.) This one *did* seem pretty interesting for it being a second. Usually on sequels it never seems as good because it's harder to be surprised. There *were* parts a little scary for my 7 year-old, but he covered his eyes and loved the show anyway. My daughter, of course, really loved it! So I guess, if you're a Harry Potter fan, you should go. If you're not and you have to go...it won't be as bad as you think Pam
Iflyme 0 #22 November 18, 2002 Well I thought the fx were better this time, but the character development wasn't as good... either way, my kids loved it! Can't wait the 4 weeks 'till "The Two Towers" hit the big screen...
quade 4 #23 November 18, 2002 Quotebut the character development wasn't as good... This story lays the ground work for a LOT of character development in the future stories. If you've read the books you already know that, but I can see where you might be at a little bit of a loss if you hadn't.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Skyrose7 0 #24 November 18, 2002 I guess I am not really a movie critic, so I thought it was pretty good.
