JerryBaumchen 1,373 #1 February 19, 2013 Hi out there, This past Friday I drove over to Sunriver, Oregon to visit with Kelly & Tony of Velocity Sports Equipment. They run a number of Pfaff 138 zig-zag machines. Kelly showed me a sample stitch, using 'E', of his 138 going through 7 layers of Type 7 webbing. It never missed a stitch. Just to try to not be outshown, I just ran 6 layers of Type 7 through my Bernina 217N zig-zag machine and it never missed a stitch. I could not force more than the 6 layers under the presser foot. JohnSherman 1 #3 February 19, 2013 Does it do a 304 stitch or a 308? I couldn't find that info anywhere.
monkycndo 0 #4 February 19, 2013 Standard on the 217 is 304. If you have the machine with the exterior cam attachment, it can do the 308.50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
councilman24 37 #5 February 19, 2013 I ended up with Pfaff 238 newer model of 138. Run great as you saw. I had to readjust the presser foot for higher lift after I got it but was easy. Have a consew 199-2 308 machine.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
JerryBaumchen 1,373 #6 February 19, 2013 Hi John, The Pfaffs do a 304 only and Bernie does both a 304 w/o the cam & a 308 w/the cam. I have the cam for mine. JerryBaumchen

They will do a 304 stitch through surprizingly thick materials ... if you are patient.
