What's the best game console?

I need to replace my Sega Saturn. What's the best system out there?

First person adventure/shooters for me.

Barbie Buys Clothes or whatever for my kids.

PS2 has more games, but i think the X box has better graphics

Xbox - Looks a lot better graphically, and the controller is better imho.

It's a toss up between xbox and PS2 I only have the PS@ but want and xbox. Xbox is releasing xbox live this christmas that may put it over the top.

I stick with my PC...much more versatile.

Besides, until I have kids, I can't seem to justify the expense of a game console. Not that I wouldn't use it, mind you...I'd just be a little bit embarrassed...

My husband thinks video/computer games are the biggest waste of time ever...it drives him crazy that I can play Morrowind or the Sims for hours...

Sega Megadrive!

And there's only one game you need: "Micro Machines turbo tournament". Insane racing with little cars between 4 players. Actually up to eight players in "shared controller mode". Excellent party game!

I used to love the Sims, until I installed the Hot Date add on pack and hated it. Now I would have to start over, and I just don't have the desire anymore.

I only have Game Cube and PS2. I was podering an Xbox, but that's getting a bit silly. If you want first person shooters, think Xbox. Probably worth it for Halo alone. PS2 definitely has the edge in title selection, though. Ultimately, if I had to have only one, it would be the Game Cube. It's all about Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2, and Super Mario Sunshine.

Old school! Man, I still wish I had my TurboDuo (aka PC Engine CD). That system was so dope. I ended up selling it for significantly more than I paid for it in the first place. I don't even want to think about the number of console systems I've had over the years.

Anyone else remember Pilotwings for the SNES and N64? I remember playing the skydiving levels with a big fan blowing from below the TV to make it more "realistic."

Haha! I actually bought one off of ebay a couple years ago. Console and 12 games for something like 20 bucks. Still play the damn thing pretty often, too.

We had a Sega Genesis a few years ago that had the coolest Joy stick ever. It was a chair. The buttons were on the arms and the backward/forward/side to side movement was controlled by actually moving the entire chair. It was a blast. It was made by, believe or not, Nordic-track. I think it was their attempt to get the lazy gamers to get some excercise. It really was a workout. It took up a huge amount of space though so we got rid of it when we moved across country.

Of the new ones, PS2 is better. I have an xbox that is collecting dust because aside from Halo and Robotech, i havent found anything worthwhile. Plus, for the budget-minded, there are a bunch of great ps2 games you can get for 20 bucks because of their greatest hits series---gran turismo 3, tony hawk 3, devil may cry, tekken 4, the original red faction (wanna play number 2).
granted, if you have other friends who also get xboxes and you all get halo you can have some crazy games, but for the number of games available the ps2 is it.

Play Station 2!

For Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Plus the PS2 plays DVD's and Audio CD's without having to buy anything additional. Not sure about the others. If you get the PS2, you'll probably want to get a memory card to save game states.

PS2 all the way, am a BIG RPG fan I worship all Final Fantasy games (only one that I am missing cause somebody stole it is final fantasy 1 for nintendo) so had to go with the only system that is making them. Will get a game cube sooner or later cause am also a big fan of zelda (only have 2 games for the N64 and thats zelda Ocarina of time and zelda the one with the masks can't remember the name).
