Cool idea for the ride to alti

WE've all seen the para-gear catalogue. You know those bits in the back whith just the outline of rigs and canopies? We're putting all of those together into a book and getting a load of fat crayons so we can colour em in on the way to alti. Keeps us entertained, and freaks out the tandems as well !!

You can also print out the jumpsut outlines from the order forms on most of the major manufacturer's websites. I colored myself a Bev.

Why dont jump planes carry radios?. I think it would be fun if someone had some music flowing through the plane. it would get everyone pumped up

I know the Otter at Spaceland can pick up FM radio because I have listened to music on the way to Lexington in it. I think it might bother most pilots.
Any comments DiverDriver?

Not THE diverdriver, but A diverdriver... at the Cessna DZ I was working at I would always listen to the ADF (AM stations on the way to altitude), now I'm trying to figure out a way to get good music playing.

Skydive Chicago has atleast one Otter w/ a sound system. they had it down for the Mardi Gras Boogie last year. Too badthey only had one CD for the whole friggin week!

love the coloring idea....but my home dz has a single Cessna, could get cramped. anyways the big question now is do you get the box of 96 crayons with the built in sharpener or just stick with the small 32 pack....I feel held back with a pack of 32

Duh, there's a pocket in the back of the pilot's seat for that stuff... There might be a bunch of other books/papers/maintenance records/etc, but you can help by throwing that stuff out. Somebody just got lazy and left it there.

Depends on your rig.....you could always get your rigger to put in an ROL pouch!

That would be cool. Kinda like that scene out of Air America where they are flying in the Porter in bad weather. Mel Gibson is in the back coloring while Robert Downey JR flies the plane. Great scene.

How about singing the "Elements" song. As in the Elements of the Periodic table. We have a few geeks, I mean guys, (One of those is my husband)
who started that at our dz and it's actually kind of fun. Plus you can dazzle unsuspecting people with you knowledge of science.

both the king airs have radios in them one usualy plays some james brown and general funk and the other usualy plays Tool or some metal. it is definitly better than listening to thos voices in my head
