AggieDave 6 #1 November 12, 2002 On my last jump on Sunday, the entire load landed off the DZ (no, I wasn't spotting). Anyways, we were about a mile west of the DZ, after we landed we decided to pack in the cow pasture where we landed. I looked up and tied to the barbed wire fence was a very old rip cord. The formerly orange handle was worn white from the sun and weather. Its old enough that the rip-cord is an old black one, not a "new" yellow rip-cord. We all found this amusing and kept it, since it was from the old DZ, Ags Over Texas, which closed 3 years ago due to a tragic accident. I thought it was odd and amusing to find a rip-cord a mile west of the DZ in a random cow pasture and thought I'd share with the class.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." AggieDave 6 #3 November 12, 2002 That would be a rather humorous, yet dangerous horse-shoe malfunction...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
skyboyblue 0 #4 November 12, 2002 I remember chasing a tandem out of field one day about 2 years ago and on the walk back the dz, I found a alti-II mounted on a red chest mount lying in the dirt. Saw the triangle shape of the mount and was like WTF!! on a similiar note. about 2 months ago, a guy jumped a new-to-him tri 160 in high winds and cut it away because it broke a line(I would'a kept it myself). Never did find it until last week. AFTER the cornfields had been harvested. according the finder, other than some dirt and probably wear and tear from sitting in the sun, it was ok, even after the farm equipment probably rolled over it. I think the guy who tried to jump it, bought it. duh! It'll be interesting to see what they do with it....

AggieDave 6 #6 November 12, 2002 Quote i also almost induce a horshoe with teh PC around my main side JM's neck. I know that's very serious and probably a scary thing to see on video, but that actually made me laugh out loud, imagining his/her face... -------)o (crude ASCII/smiley version of my image)--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Stacy 0 #7 November 12, 2002 the video is hilarious. you knwo it's gonna be a *fun* jump when i even put the protec on backwards and dont' realize it until the plane is ready to taxi. the JMs just thought it would look cool on the video. thank GOD i've gotten better than that! weid14 0 #8 November 12, 2002 I was walking back from a reserve ride, got all my stuff and found a tandem drouge and same deal, been through the harvester and out in the weather for at least a season. I dont' think they continued to use it though.... also found a student canopy in the woods after a year, it wasn't in such good shape. and my very first cutaway, I landed, took one step and there was the cut away handle weird (keeping the reserve handle and throwing the cutaway seems to be my theme when going for the reserve.)
